Everyone calls me cute and submissive. ...and say I'm a stereotypical Japanese girl even though I'm mostly American black.

I can't speak for Jp guys, but American guys do not like cute and submissive. Makes me want to run off to Japan.

hmm i read a lot of shoujo manga's...i mean A LOT! and i think it made we wonder as well if guys really do like the typical shy, cute and submissive girls which is usually portrayed in the stories.

im the total opposite of submissive (sorry boys) Image but it depends on the guys preferences. we're all different

it's an asian culture thing, it's kinda seen as 'respectful' or polite instead.

for japan, they prob like the yamato nadeshiko types usually.
not complete doormats, but relatively more submissive and quiet.

Some, but not all. IMO submissive girls are a huge turn off.

Well change "submissive" to polite and loving... then it's more of an Asian thing. The ideal girl to quite a few guys *smirk*, though many of them always find themselves falling for a total rebellion.

But this is soooo subjective. Not to mention, this is the 21st century, people have changed, that's probably an old stereotype thing.
