I am again aware that posting links in this fasion is against forum rules, but I hope you agree that this deserves its own thread. Please watch the video, it is very interesting and has an incredible meaning.

I just watched the video. It is quite meaningful, but your title led me to bad assumptions. What is a good title? Maybe, you shouldve put "Did you know?". It has a thrilling ambiance for it.

It was okay I guess. Kind of meaningless facts that no one really pays attention to, but would kick ass if you got on a Game Television Show.

hehehe, god almighty huh?

The rules tell us to make titles that are not misleading... "Did you know?" was what I was going to do originally however, that could be taken in a thousand different ways, even if it sounds more interesting. I just tried to be descriptive so people don't junp to conclusions, obviously it was uneffective.

As far as the first post goes, I believe I have fit the criteria set out by the rules. The main point of the forums are to create conversation, what I have made will serve that purpose, or at least thats what I believe.

Lol. Pretty clever using the edit function to bump your topic.

Its called the "description" and also the first post.

When you're asked to fill in the field for Topic Title, be clear and concise. Don't write a lengthy sentence or use unnecessary phrases...

"Did You Know?" << It may not be as clear and concise, but when you see that question, what pops up in mind? "Description" "A few interesting things to think about..." << Then, there is your topic right there. "Firt Post" "Did you... Blah Blah Blah... Questions? Questions? << Conversation.

Besides, I am not trying to be god almighty here. I am just one of the annoyed CR members who goes to the forum and sees a very long title which we cant even read. Have you ever realized that there were only 3 of us that are posting here? Our frustration can only be vented unto you so that in the future, less people will make threads with such annoying and long titles. I hope you understand.

^^ Now, did we start any meaningful conversation at all? Nope, we just argued.

Another few points to discuss. Where is your description and background information?

If you're going to start a topic, back it up with any background information that should be known regarding the topic in question. Don't assume that everyone knows what you're talking about - provide external/internal links, synopses, and examples to clarify your topic so that everyone can understand and join freely.

The importance of the first post can't be stressed enough. If you're going to start a discussion, make sure to participate in it by giving your opinions as well. It's basic forum courtesy to open a topic by sharing your own views regarding the topic at hand. Simply dropping a topic in front of everyone is very distasteful, and in many ways, can be considered rude. So don't go starting a topic with a short sentence that says: "discuss __(topic goes here)___ in this thread..." because that is a given already based on the title... do your job as thread starter and INITIATE the discussion.

Again, is this what you call "initiating a conversation"?

Last point, links are allowed for reference and clarification for the topic.
