Family..that prays together stays together

My family goes through a lot of ups and downs, but were still together.. play cards together, watch movies together, go swimming together etc.

I used to be a rebel and not to talk to my parents, but i grew up and found out how to deal with my own parents =D

My mom got married once, but had us 3! From different dads! Who we never see because they are running from child support(my dad signed over custody and is having a divorce with some white chick in Canada, I now have half brothers ).

This is wierd, because my Mom is one of those uptight religious people, but divorce is still an option for bad marriages(they were granted in the Bible).

Personally, since I'm abstinent, I will spend my dating and flirting time actually learning about my possible sexual partner!
People jump headlong into lifetime commitments nowadays(mortgages, marriages, kids ) which was never really a problem, except now, no one knows how to cooperate!

Arranged marriages have a high satisfactory result for the couple and society(90% non divorce). Why?
Because being forced to do something, forces the couples to work together, they have no other option.

My dad was a womanizer and my mom knew it. They never separated or even filed for divorce (since divorce is not legal in my country). Though my dad was like that, he was a good provider and he loves his children. I never saw mom and dad argued in front of me; but when I was young and they have a fight, dad usually bring me to the playground. I really don’t have a childhood to cherish cos I don’t grow up with my siblings. We ever had the time to celebrate Christmas together or go to church together. My two sisters married bastards and both separated. My brother was baptist in Muslim when he married a Muslim woman. Honestly, I don’t have anything against their religion but the fact that Muslim can marry more than once is against my principles. I’m glad my other 2 siblings had a successful marriage.

Married is way way too far from my plans. I am not in haste and I don’t want to end up in a divorce; still looking for the right man for me. (geez!)

My parents have been married for fifteen years and they are separated on the verge of divorce.
One of my uncles had an affair and got divorced last year
Another uncle beat children and my aunt had to send their children overseas to start the process of divorce this year.

My father's side of the family is very dysfunctional, when they were all children, my grandmother barely took care of them, and left them alone days at a time. I have an aunt and two uncles on my dad's side, they all have different fathers! Because of my family I am having to take time out of my schedule to go to counseling with all of them and dicuss everyone's marital problems! So I do believe that sometimes the home you grow up in has an affect on your future family life.

My extended family are a bunch of prudes, which is good and bad. My uncle ended up marrying Nazi-zilla Mc Ice-Queen and woke up one day. He's been with his new wife ten years and I'd never thought I'd actually be really, really happy for them, but I am, despite how much the rest of my family tree despises him for his decision. But whether it was the instability before or after the divorce, his children with his first wife turned into really terrible people.

trying to think of what would have happened if an event didn't happen will just end up making you depressed.

My parents got devorced when I was 5. My dad gave my mom the papers on my 5th birthday. A month later it was final.

Up to that point I had never gotten mad at anything or anyone.

Today is a common thing to do when marriage gets hard, and you think there's no other way to solve things,so yeah divorce is the "solution".I don't know how it feels to live with only one of your parents, because my parents are still married. How about your kids's feelings?

I think you should really get to know someone before getting married.I'm only 17 and I don't plan to get married soon.Marriage was suppose to be something sacred, but now people just get a divorce and move on.I believe once you get married it should be forever ^_^

divorce could be an option if it is for the better of the two married couple.. like if you are a battered wife..

i can't say much about this topic since i never had personal experience about divorce..

my parents have a very weird dynamic, and as a consequence, their 5 kids do too (including and mainly me). they should've been separated and their marriage should've been annulled so many time already, there was even a period where they separated for 4 yrs, but miraculously we celebrated their 21 aniversary just late last year. life is unpredictable and how children cope in event of a divorce is a reflection of the parent's capability and own personality. we cant really say everyone was affectedly badly by it.

speaking of which a muslim friend of mine said that in islam amongst other things, if your husband dont satisfy you sexually, you can divorce him. just because muslim girls have to wait so long to get married then have sex. a no-brainer

believe me i was shocked when she said that, but at least if you divorce the husband early, there wont be any kids to be affected.

Wow, I wonder how many muslim men crack under pressure. Talk about performance ratings!
