the world is getting sicker?

oh come on, this is one of the best times to be alive.....EVER. if you can afford a computer and an internet connection, then you are among the most well-off ppl the world has ever seen. this is the first time in world history where a bloody nose wasn't a life threatening ordeal (bloody nose is how attila the hun, the one who brought the roman empire to its knees, died), you don't have to cut your arm off if a wound is infected, can travel hundreds, thousands of miles in one day, and have access to fresh foods grown thousands of miles away and goods produced in lands you will never see. you live in a structured, well-ordered society of laws and rules that generally keeps the population in check, and for the most part, don't have to wander outside fearing for your life like you did in the dark ages wherever you went. we live in a time where most societies are extremely tolerant of other peoples, cultures, and religions like never before.

there really isn't all that much you can complain about. maybe try putting your idea of the degredation of society into historical context before claiming the world is going to hell.

i just was lookin at the news online and i just came across an article that sickened me

james, 22, who needs 24-hour care, has been missing since the weekend.
A body was discovered at a property in the Church Hill area of Redditch, Worcestershire, this afternoon.
Mr Hughes, who has the mental age of an 18-month-old child, and his mother, 39-year-old Heather Wardle, were reported missing from their home in Loxley Close in the Church Hill area of Redditch on Saturday.

Local teenagers found Ms Wardle's body in an area of "dense undergrowth" off Winyates Way, just minutes from the family home.

She was found on Monday with a ligature around her neck at the base of a tree, police said
