girls under 16 can have abortions without parents being told.
Do you think parents have the right to know?

For example: A pregnant 13 yr old seeks advice from her teacher and doctor and decides to go through with an abortion but does not want her parents to know, must her parents be told anyway?

What are your opinions about this?
Is there an age where the parents definately have to know?

I hesitate to post anything to this thread... this could get ugly. *sigh* In truth, I'm torn on this issue because I can see both sides of the argument. My teenage self is screaming: It's none of their business! But the side of me that looks into the future: if I had a daughter I would want to know something like that. So....idk............

Well if the patient explicitly says for the doctor not to reveal the information, it is covered in doctor-patient confidentiality. To break it is to violate the doctor's professional standards and ethics.

If the girl is dumb enough to get pregnant at her age, I think she's old enough to take responsibility. However, the role of parents all over the world are to use their life experience to guide the child along a "path of virtue" (where did i pul ltha tout from lol)... I've made plenty of mistakes, and i only can try not to repeat them to make myself a bette rperson.

why get pregnant so soon? cause she can't live without that boy? why abortion? if she sleept whit that boy and got pregnant there's nothing to do but to keep that baby
..if her mother had done abortion too does she have lived now? i personaly hate kids but i'll never ever make an abortion ....that it's not a solution keep that baby and when he's born she can gave him at some hospital or gave him at some persons that really need a baby and can't have one. why kill him when there's a lot of women that can't
have babies? Well if the patient explicitly says for the doctor not to reveal the information, it is covered in doctor-patient confidentiality. To break it is to violate the doctor's professional standards and ethics.

Also do you think teachers, or healthcare workers, or doctors should have to tell parents that their child is going to have an abortion, or should it always be up to the child's decision.
