I'm pretty sure if the government really wanted to go against the people that your guns would be entirely worthless except for killing off the pawns that don't truly matter to them anyway. The government has far better weapons so I would say the guns only give false hope if it even really gives that.

“Nobody is as powerful as we make them out to be.” - Alice Walker, they leech off us for their power, we're too gullible. If we're the 99% and they all came for your guns and we said no, what the hell would they do?

If the government decided to go against the people to the point where people would want to fight back with guns I think it is safe to assume the government would be willing to kill people. All it takes is an adequate amount of fear to get many people to put their heads down and keep working. You honestly think everyone would unite as one to fight? More people would either side with the government or avoid the conflict entirely than you think. Sure a good amount would fight and the government would fight back but the government has a lot more resources and methods to keep control. It would not end well.

Not only is it a constitutional right. It gives you the freedom to protect yourself, freedom to hunt your own game, and last and most important the freedom to fight the government if you believe they are reigning with tyranny.

Please dont say this bullshit about protect yourself. If I wanted to kill you with a gun. Id should you before you saw it coming, you would have no time to pull a gun out and shoot me, you would be dead on the floor. Guns dont protect you they just help you kill. Yes someone could then shoot your killer but your dead, it didnt protect you, it just help get your revenge.

I don't think you understand gun use age very well. Ideally if you have a firearm for self protection you conceal it and use it when you feel you or another human beings' life is in danger of an immediate threat. Then you stop the threat. If you specifically targeted someone for murder. Chances are you're right. You'd be able to kill them before they had the reaction to stop you from achieving your goal. But think. What if EVERY ONE (who isn't a criminal or mentally wronged) was carrying or concealed. Like you said. After the murdered victim is felled another could protect themselves and others against the new criminal threat.

And as I stated before. The government can also be a threat if they strip you of your freedoms. Hopefully no one would have to murder, but it's unlikely that a corrupt power would restore rights if it has evil intentions. Guns often do not kill people without users' intent.

What I'm saying is they've abandoned civil rights, the judicial system has holes drilled in to allow loopholes to get anyone of authority out of trouble, they've allowed the ss and fbi to tap phones, track your moves, records, search history and the littlest detail about your life. I could go on but you get the message, theirs 2 positions in the world, vitimiser and victim, the 99% are victims of daily oppression, repression and propaganda to the point where they can't see straight. Fear makes the wolf look bigger, they take power by manipulating are consciousness to their advantage, if only we knew that you don't really need to fight the government, just expose them for who they are. The reason I think firearms are important is because many people will rely on them in times of disaster, what do you think the elite are capable of?? they control almost everything except you, they might control the things you see, hear, feel and think but they never control you because at any time you can wake up out of this false world. let's see if they stop arms trading, creating deadly weapons capable of taking out whole city's and such then they can take ours. We aren't the cause of evil.

Yup, anyone should be able to LEGALLY. Proper background checks, etc. I also believe they should be left at home. If we have an issue on the streets, let's solve it; talking, fighting, whatever. Walk away but once you enter my home, my PERSONAL space, and threaten the safety of my family then all bets are off.

I work with alot of police officers and realisticly even if they ban guns criminals and crazy people can get their hands on them. In the united states there are enough guns total for every citizen. Those who want a gun to go kill people will always get their hands on one. If they ban guns it just reduces the average joes ability to defend ones self. The problem isnt how these shooters killed people it is why they killed them. We live in a society where we like to shift the blame to make up for our own mistakes. We blame videogames guns and music. In Psycology they talk about nature vs. nurture. nature is the predispositions we are born with through genetics, Nurture is how we are raised and the sum of all our experiences. If it was these shooters nature then there would have be signs that can easily be seen. Whith nurture the fault lies with a traumatic experience most of these people had bad family lives or were bullied heavily in anycase their circomstances were extreme and from history we know that extreme circomstances breeds extreem resolts. What we should be doing is supporting each other, trying to help those in need and not yell at the cashier or mechanic no matter what they do to deserve it. I own a gun and I have had to use it for self defence once most who own guns will never have to use it. those who do, the second your assailent descovers you also have the capacity do defend yourself they will often back down.

People should be allowed to own smaller guns for protection/hunting/etc.
But people should not be allowed to own assault rifles. Those things are harmful. There's a reason why they're used for war, you know.

actually this is really a mute point until you can deal with the main problem:

Most people think it is guns: nope, sure can not get a gun it hard to kill? Maybe

most people think it is video games: nope, again how many people play games, that go nuts and kills people? 1%?

Most people think it is mental health: nope, sure crazy people are well crazy

So what is it?

Simple it a combine series of events

I will use myself and the three things above:

I have guns in the house, yet i dont use them

I played a lot of games, yet i have never killed anyone in real life

As far as i know im not crazy so i dont kill people yet i have two out of the three things what does that mean?

Well In the UK your not really allowed a gun. I think it's good as gun crime is very low. It makes me feel safer knowing that if some crazy guy was out trying to kill people, he would probably only have a knife and would have to get in range before he could do any damage.

Only issue is when someone barges into your house with an illegal assault rifle that "smaller gun" isn't going to do a lot of good.

Not to mention the line in the constitution refers to state military not individuals.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Militia:
b : a body of citizens organized for military service

guns dont hurt people its the people using them. guns are inanimate objects meaning they can't do a thing on their own. but if you add a dumb ass nut job into the equation then they can do a lot of damage.

but unfortunately even if they banned guns the only one affected would be the law abiding citizens. you think a criminal will care if they banned the guns?????? they would just get them on the black market and keep doing their crimes. if you can find a way to totally and completely get rid of the black market then the society would evolve into something close to a utopia. though i hardly doubt it. its not part of human nature to be so docile

if all guns no exception had a say a lock that only unlocks with DNA,retina, voice and other things to avoid tampering with it. then the ban might work. but thats not the case. so....
