2008 Dream Concert

The Korean Entertainment Producers Association and broadcasting station SBS join hands for a music festival called “I Love Korea! 2008 Dream Concert,” which will be held on June 7 at 7 pm at the Seoul Jamsil Olympic Stadium.

The said music festival will be attended by no less than top singers in the Korean music scene like TVXQ, SS501, Epik High, Super Junior, MC Mong, Jewelry, Maya, Wonder Girls, Girls’ Generation, Buga Kingz, Baechigi, Typhoon, Shinee, Mighty Mouth, Peter and special guest Japanese-born Korean judo player Yoshihiro Akiyama.

The “Dream Concert,” which is now on its 14th year, aims to not only be a music festival but also to become a campaign to promote patriotism and to stop illegal use of music and other contents.

So he asks himself (her, but rhetorically, I reckon) why he ever fell for her in the first place. TVXQ members’ messages to their future wives

Last May 26, in the SBS talk show “The Star Show,” TVXQ members were asked to give messages to their future wives. The following were what Hero, Max, U-know, Xiah and Micky had to say to the women they will be marrying in the future.

“I’ll sing for you anytime if you ask me to,” Xiah said.

“I’ll be a competent man when I meet you. We’ll live a very long good life together,” was what Micky said.

“When we get married, I won’t stay out late. Out of the three meals in a day, I’ll be sure to make one. I’ll be a husband who won’t get a beer belly. Please just bear me a beautiful baby,” Hero expressed.

“Wait for me and prepare a delicious meal,” Max, the youngest in the group, said.

“I’ll love you for the time you waited for me and for the rest of time. Let’s go to our child’s sports day,” U-know enthusiastically said.

On the other hand, when asked what are the group’s future activities, TVXQ revealed that in Japan, it will be participating in the A-nation concert this Summer and in Korea, it will be releasing a new album this Fall and asked for the fans’ support.

TVXQ / DBSK on their Sisters Dating Band Members + Message to Future Wives

In the recent episode of SBS Star Show, they were asked about who among the members would they like their younger sisters to date; The question brought down the house when Jaejoong dropped the "hand pointer" and the other members followed and threw theirs, which gave the impression that no one wanted their sisters to date anyone in TVXQ.

In reality, only Yunho and Changmin have younger sisters, and as Yunho tries to explain why, there was much laughter. He finally said that, "The first issue is that if my sister and that member get into a fight, I won't be able to take sides. That's the biggest problem." When asked about the second problem prior to the one Yunho stated, he immediately exclaims, "The second problem is.... PASS!" (laughter)

Changmin who has two younger sisters then answers, "I hope there won't be any misunderstandings, but as a brother of two sisters... I hope my sisters would meet good guys."

The MC's tried to put some light on Changmin's answer, and even joked that they should cut the segment to that. But Changmin went ahead to explain his answer anyway saying. "I think you've misunderstood. I do want to be a 'Hyung' and it's not that I don't like the members." he continued repeating the statement, "...I just want my sisters to meet good guys." Laughter erupts from the group and their audience.

His reply caused a ruckus with TVXQ members getting off their seats, laughing and looking embarrassed. Funny enough, he suggested that there are guys out there better than his TVXQ hyungs, showing that he (Changmin) was really quite against the idea, as also suggested by the other members during the earlier part of the question.

Of course, it's part joke and part reality. But one thing's for sure, Shim Changmin and his Dong Bang brothers has given their fans and audiences a glimpse of another side of their personalities.


But the highlight of the show was the segment where Dong Bang Shin Ki, to the delight of their fans, was requested to give their messages to their future wives. The question includes how they wanted to call their wives and what they wanted to say to them.

14th Annual Dream Concert to be Staged June 7

The Korea Entertainment Producers' Association and SBS will jointly host the 'I Love You, Korea! 2008 Dream Concert' on June 7 at the Jamsil Olympic Main Stadium in Seoul.

Top idol groups including TVXQ, SS501, Epik High, Super Junior, MC Mong, Jewelry, Maya, Wonder Girls and Girls' Generation have been invited to perform. K-1 fighter Choo Sung-hoon will also make a special guest appearance.

The annual 'Dream Concert' celebrates its 14th anniversary this year. Organizers said this year's concert was put together to promote a campaign against illegal music downloading.

DBSK's first impressions of SNSD

The group DBSK shared their impressions on the younger group SNSD, who are part of the same company, SM Entertainment. In SBS "The Star Show", filmed on May 15th, DBSK said that after they came back from Japan, they found SM Entertainment to be much changed. The biggest change they felt was made by SNSD.

Xiah Junsu expressed that the debut of SNSD was like "putting candy into taejang" and "the addition of the 9 SNSD girls into an office that contained so many boys is the way the candle is emblazoned ."

"Asia's Star" TVXQ recorded "The Star Show" on the 15th. In this program, they discussed about the tough hardships they went through during their 2005 debut in Japan.

During the recording, TVXQ said that their success was not an easy one. Yunho said, "We had to start as a rookie, and during the first two months, there was a time when we experienced depression."

To TVXQ, language was a problem, but also it was hard for them to survive the tough Japanese music industry. Kim Junsu said, "To be honest, we were looking foward (on the Japanese debut), however, we just debuted because we were told to. At first, because we couldn't speak Japanese, we questioned why we had to do this."

Three years ago, TVXQ swept all the main awards in most of the Aaward ceremonies, yet they had to start as a rookie during their Japanese debut, which made it harder. Yunho had injured his leg during the first few months of the Japanese debut, making it hard to stand on stage. "For the first time, I wanted to destroy my leg," he recalled his painful experience.

However, TVXQ started to find strenght in each other. Despite all the hardships they went through in trying to fit in with the Japanese music industry, for the first time after their 2005 debut, TVXQ ranked number one twice on the Japanese music charts.

Starting from March 19th, they started an Arena Tour in Yokohama, Japan, touring 8 cities, and performing more than 17 tiems, with moer than 150,000 people in the audicence.

TVXQ's secret to sucess is that "they did not lose their own color". Junsu stated that ,"Although our music was close to J-pop, we also added some Korean feel."

On this day, TVXQ also discuessed on the false rumors of producer Lee Soo Man. Kim Junsu said, "LSM is really like a father, whom I greatly look up to. It really breaks my heart to hear all those rumors."

Continuing, Yunho said. "He always believed in us," and that" while we were training, he would tell us that we would suceed no matter what."

TXVQ, within three years of debut in Japan, ranked 1st with their song Purple Line.

Kim Jaejoong said, "At the end of this year, we wil be coming back to Korea with an album."

TVXQ / DBSK Gives Help to Chinese Earthquake Victims

Finally, it’s great to hear that Dong Bang Shin Ki (TVXQ) will perform for charity. Like other eager and concerned Asian celebrities, TVXQ prayed and desires to help the victims of the deadly Sichuan Earthquake.

TVXQ will hold their “~O~ Shanghai Concert” which will be held at the Hongkou Soccer Stadium in Shanghai tomorrow, Saturday, May 31.

Their show will be a benefit concert in contribution for the needing quake survivors in the province of Sichuan and other neighboring areas, where the official death toll climbed to almost 80,000 (with over 300,000 people injured and almost 20,000 missing), and around 5 million people left homeless.

The concert will be TVXQ’s first major concert in mainland China which will be later followed by another “~O~ Concert” in Beijing in June.

The ticket prices range from 40-183 US dollars (280, 480, 680, 980 and 1280 RMB).

Instead of the famous “Red Sea” concert trademark, Cassiopeia fans will wear “yellow” (yellow ribbons) as a symbol of peace and good wishes.

Let us all pray for the victims of the quake, and help if we can. Everyone can do something. Even the smallest donations can really help a lot. We hope the spirit of TVXQ’s concert in Shanghai will encourage other Cassiopeia fans and Kpop fans to lend a helping hand as well.
