The Subaru Impreza 2.5RS was the 3rd sporty car that Subaru offered in the USA. It's a great car, handles well, but it lacked a powerful engine. It is naturally aspirated stock, with a disappointing 165HP, although the good handling makes up for it. I believe it is based off of the GC chassis, which means it's LIGHT. 1st generation STIs were very light (some versions lighter than an RX-7!), but without all the turbocharging plumbing that the STIs needed, the 2.5RS is even lighter, despite having AWD.

Oh, and here's a pic of a 2.5RS that I found (but I don't own one, wish I did though)

When I was looking to buy a Subaru, I wanted a gc8, but the prices were too high for what it is. Has anyone driven an rs? Shit is slow as balls! But fun around the corner.

Not mine

that's some pretty neat fact.. pretty amazing an awd car manage to be lighter than a dedicated rwd car with some frame.

My buddy has 2 RS's, one with a japanese STi swap dedicated to autocross and the other dedicated to rallycross. The STi swaped rs is a monster, although I rode in a 2005 sti with 500hp last night. That thing is freakin'

Sadly the US received mostly the 2.5rs in FWD. Its really hard to find an AWD model.

You're referring to the Impreza L. All 2.5rs are awd.
