This series can go either way, it can see as a shounen-ai series but it also can just shoujo or shounen fantasy series, it holds the elements of both, it has beautiful strong men, beautiful strong women, fantasy setting, lovable characters, it has everything going for it, that's why the creator had to make a 3rd season to please their fans. I want to see how Yuuri will run the kingdom. I wanna see if there will come a time when Yuuri has to choose between his life on Earth and his life as a king. Yuuri is probably one of the greatest human characters because he holds so much power as the demon king, however instead of abusing his power for his own needs, he used his power in order to build peace within the kingdom between humans and demons, in order to create a great future. I would love to see the fruits of his endeavors and how the kingdom will evolve. So far, the story plot is progressing slowly for the 3rd season. It's seems we're have to wait to see what dangers and adventures that Yuuri will face in the future of the series. Personally, I love how strong Yuuri has become and now he seems to be able to control his demon powers as king. Although I'm curious to know, how long is Yuuri's lifespan? Technically, isn't he like Conrad, half human, half demon so his lifespan will shorter than Wolfram and anyone else. So how long can he run the kingdom? On another note, will there come a time where Yuuri can't separate himself from his demon personality and power? I mean Yuuri looks really hot when he transforms and uses his power, I wonder if there'll come a time when he will evolve and be on full hot demon form throughout the series. Now that Yuuri reached adult age, I'm still waiting for him to find love in Wolfram and officially make a life changing decision to keep their engagement, stay as king or built a future with someone else on Earth. He's so young, so there are so many possabilities of things going wrong or right. I guess you just have to wait and see.

is this really yaoi?? this anime is the best but i hate the part when other boys flirting with each other eh,, but i know yuuri hate that part,, tell me pls

i like the story because it so unique and its cool flushed by the toilet to be a demon king haha demon but he's very kind the story line is very good i like it!!

but i hate the yaoi part eww.. those parts makes me laugh,, but i still hate those parts cuz boys are meant for girls,, not boys for boys,, got it,, if i its possible i want yuuri to be partnered with the girl that was engaged with wolfram the beauty queen of shin makoku i dunno her name but shes pretty and he duel with yuuri

but wikipedia said that:
"Though not explicitly shōnen-ai (boys love), the series is often mistaken for such because of its overtones (such as an early plot point that ends with two male characters becoming engaged), and calm acceptance of homosexuality in the setting, as well as because the cast is predominantly made up of good-looking young men. More accurately, the series can be called a "male harem", similarly to how one would call an anime about a young man surrounded by good-looking females a "harem anime" (ex: Love Hina or Tenchi Muyo) or a story about a female surrounded by good-looking males a "reverse harem" (ex: Fushigi Yūgi or Ouran High School Host Club). Romance is not a main theme of the series, though it has a flourishing fan-community dedicated to various romantic pairings.

The illustrator, Temari Matsumoto (松本テマリ Matsumoto Temari) however, is known for her BL (Boy's Love) illustrations in manga and "Gensou Suikoden 2" a yaoi doujinshi, assisted by Sukesaburou Barugo & Ouji Henshoku.

Kyou Kara Maoh! can also be accurately called shōjo - anime and manga written for a female audience."

it means its not yaoi so its great

OMG!!! You make me ewww! X( Boys are not "meant" for girls! You homophobies makes me want to puke.

Seriously, if you expect Yuuri to end up with a girl, then you're wasting your time, cuz it's not gonna happend.
In the novels(Which is the original) Yuuri actually kinda have a crush on Wolfram, soo..
If he's gonna end up with some, it's him.

I suggest if you really hate boyXboy so much, don't watch the show.

It's not gonna happen... and besides, what's cooler than bisexual guys? It doesn't really mean that when a guy loves another guy, he's a gay. It's just that he loves that guy more than the girls. And many do not find it yucky. Also, it's the main essence of the show, that's why if you can't take shounen-ai scenes, you might as well find another series that won't puke you.
[oh, yeah... don't think I'm getting rid of you. I also wanted more viewers of KKM as well]

It might certainly be a shoujo-audience type of show, and not yaoi (yaoi and shounen ai are 2 different breeds of dog, anyway), but (though it said it's not explicit) it's still can be called shounen-ai. It's just not purely emphasized on the show, as your info says (but it will be, eventually).

just a few things to clear the meaning of that info you posted.

I fell in love with it the moment I saw episode 2. Now, my friends call each other names of the KKM characters. One of them was Demon King Yuri and Wolfram. Another became Yuri and for some reason... I became Gunter and Anissina.

I came across KKM randomly while browsing Netflicks. I watched the preview finding the plot interesting I rented it. After seeing the first 5 episodes wanted to buy the whole series and every product I could get my hands on. I love this anime as much as I love Fushugi Yuugi.

I had watched disk one enough times to where my parents were annoyed buy it. XD

At the con I went to they were selling a KKM messenger bag and the doliphin keychain. I bought both with the last amount of money I had.
