Quoting a dictionary won't work. Even scientists are asking themselves the same question now. What life is and its meaning are two different things though.
Your existence itself doesn't have a meaning. Maybe you do have a meaning to someone else. But do you really need a meaning? We're programmed just to live and not die, nothing else. We've the blood of adventurers and we can't stand taking crab steps. You've also been born with a brain, that brain can also give you a meaning if you really wish to. Learning about the world is probably the first step you can take forward, you can always leave the cage.

What is THE meaning of life? Why does there have to be a THE meaning of life. Can't there be a personal meaning? No one knows how we got here or why we are here, regardless of opinions. Perhaps there is no actual meaning of life other then what you feel should be for you.

I can't really grasp what "meaning" is when it comes to life and I think there probably is none...
But if there is one I think it's to enjoy everything as much as possible and make sure everyone else can do the same. Adventure, learn, find happiness and enjoy it as long as possible... basically equality and self-indulgence with no exploitation of others. Also anime.
