TUTORIAL: Simple Background

1: Open up photoshop, new siggie, transparent background, maincolours black white
2: Take the Gradient Tool, have it on black white, reflected gradient and mode "difference" (can be selected on top)
3: Start living out on the siggie by rolling the gradient tool several times over it
4: Duplicate layer
5: On layer2: Edit > Transform, flip horizontal
6: On layer 2, go to blending options and do blend mode : overlay
7: Merge layers
8: go to Image> Adjustment > Hue/Saturation and play a bit with the settings, do not forget to check colorize

result:

TUTORIAL: Full signature, no brushes needed

1: start up photoshop
(I'm using photoshop cs2)
2: Open new, transparent background, and a nice siggie size (I prefer 350x130)
3: Layer 1: Filter > render > clouds
4: Layer 1: Filter > Stylize > Wind > blast from left
5: Repeat step 4 only this time to blast from right
6: Image > rotate canvas 90degrees CW and repeat step 4+5
7: Image > rotate canvas 90degrees CCW
8: Image > adjustments > hue/saturation . pick colour of liking , don't forget to colorize!
9: Ctrl+J (aka duplicate layer) 2 times!
10: Layer 2: Filter, Blur > gaussian blur at around 10
11: Layer 2: Layer option > blend mode Soft Light
12: Add Difuse Glow to layer 2 (filter > distort > diffuse glow)
12: Layer 3: Filter > blur > motion blur > around 70 degrees and around 170 pixels
13: Blending Options Layer 3> Blend mode : Linear Light
14: now we have a pretty nice, pretty easy background, time for render, so search for a nice render on for example http://www.clantemplates.com/renders/gallery/
and add it into your siggie , below layer 3
15: Duplicate Render 3 times
16: Render Layer 1: blend mode Soft light
17: Render Layer 2: Gaussian Blur 10%
18: Render Layer 3: Transparency around 65%, and blend mode luminosity
19: Add name (with blending mode soft light preferably)
20: use marking tool and rightclick > stroke > 1px black

Result:

TUTORIAL: Pixel Stretch

1: Open up photoshop and make a new signature with the size you desire with transparent background
2: Find, or make, a nice looking render. Cartoonish works best
3: Cut out the render and paste it into your signature.
4: Take the rectangular mark tool, and select a small piece ( || < like that smal) out of the sig from top to bottom.
5: Copy that piece into a new layer and drag that layer underneath the renderlayer
6: The small cut-out > Edit > Transform > Scale , and drag it all across the signature.
7: Voila finished, you can now edit some stuff yourself like blending in the rending more, text etc etc.

My example:
Using this render:

Result:

Animating ( Gif ) process is a Big Subject on it's own in PhotoShop @_@ -
so i will try to be brief as possible: (U can always Check In the Help Menu, where you can find some help on animation.)

Hope this will help, feel free to ask anything further^^v
