haha i've been doing this for like 3 years now but when i was using my old computer and a regular TV i used a S-Video cable and it worked fine but for my HDTV i had to use a VGA cable (same as the ones on monitors) that was male on both ends because the resolution is limited on an S-Video cable and for audio i've been using a converter and plugging it into my surround sound system.
ill post pics later cuz im too lazy to do it now >.<

your local radioshack or any electronics store. just go in there and be like " how can i plug my computer into my tv?" if they cant answer your question then they dont deserve to work there lol

haha you dont need both a VGA and an S-Video cable. you can use an S-Video cable but it doesnt use the full capabilities of your video card especially if its a newer computer but if youre not using an HDTV then it should be fine.

A no-cable, no adapter solution is to buy a DVD player that supports DivX, like the late, lamented Stage6 used. I convert flv or H264 files to DivX, burn them on a disk, and pop them into my player as is -- no editing. I found an all-regions DivX Pioneer player at Amazon for under $100, but you can probably do better if you shop around.

It only works if you're watching something in high quality. Or else, it's crap.
