I was thinking yesterday that, no matter what, whether it is heaven or hell we end up in, we will never cease conciousness. We will have to live and feel in a neverending cycle. This thought gave me a start, but I then realized that, If we are in God's Kingdom, we will not care about, or even be capable of processing the emotion, boredom. What are your feelings on this subject? Does everlasting life scare, excite, bore, or even sadden you? I thought that I wouldn't mind having everlasting life on earth, but then I think of seeing my friends and family die and me being left alone. I also think that it is because I don't know what it is like in any other world, just that which i live in. Life in Heaven may be just like Earth, but better. Perhaps we will not even need or want the self fulfilling role of a job, or any other type of work.

everlasting life does not really excite me. i would think that being alive for all time would get extremely depressing as you watch everyone around you die. but for a history fan like me, it would also be very interesting to see how the world changes over the millenia. watching cities rise and fall, countries and empires expand and crumble, i'd find it extremely interesting. but not enough for me to give up my mortality for it. never.

as for the heaven/hell thing, nothing is known in my religion of the life after our life on earth. i assume there is somewhere we all go once the universe is destroyed, but there is nothing written about it.

I thought we would still be able to feel emotions in heaven? Just not the bad ones.

I thought bout this a long time ago. Everlasting life means. you go on forever and ever and ever. It does scare me but what can I do about it? Thinking about it somemore is gonna scare me even more so I might as well not think about it and just see what happens next time.

I would never want to live forever. I'd rather experience as many things as I could in my life, then die. Not live on and on. It would get boring and tiring after awhile.

I'm a strong believer of life being just a one time thing, and having an everlasting life even after you died, doesn't that seem so tiring? Carpediem is all I can say.

I don't believe in heaven or hell. But:

- If Heaven existed:
I wouldn't want to go there. I'm happy most of the time, but sometimes it feels so nice to be sad, or to cry. Or even to be mad. I wouldn't ever want to give up on those emotion. Heaven, a careless place where everyone is happy? No, it doesn't sound like it's my thing. Even though, in heaven, you feel so happy that you don't miss the emotions (just because you can't miss thing, because that's also saddening), I wouldn't want to go. It's like being drugged. I like the good emotions, but the other ones are fine as well.
A nice example might be: If you walk on high heels all day, at the end of the day, your feet hurt really bad. But when you take your shoes off, it feels so damn good!
So basically, we need the bad things in order to enjoy the good things. The whole idea of heaven is unrealistic and retarded imo.

- If Hell existed:
Of course I wouldn't want to go there either. It'd be too hot.

Everlasting life wouldn't be something for me. I like my life, but it's ok that it will end some day.

i don't like the idea of living forever.it would be probably exciting for a while then eventually you'll probably end up bored after doing and experiencing everything that you can.it's probably gonna turn into a lonely life as well.
i guess that's why life is very interesting because you can only be alive once and its certain that it will end.well knowing that life someday will end probably makes us live life to the fullest.you don't want to waste your temporary lease in this world would you?

hmm nice topic lil boy =)
well actually it depends on each person's belief. =)
Christians believe in living in heaven or hell. And their belief is that those in heaven just enjoy and praise God all day long. =) happy life eh? =). Hell to them, is eternal torture. punishment for everything u've done wrong on earth...><
Some other religions...(not clear with all these so i won't state =])...They have the 'life cycle theory' where ur soul never dies (like christians in this aspect) but they believe that after u die u get born into something else. any creature on earth, depending on your 'goodness' when u are human. Some others feel that no one can go to heaven. everyone goes to hell and there is different levels of hell. the different levels of punishment...

so opinion on how u feel abt afterlife depends on that ^.

i feel that every religion says of an afterlife so there is. =) I think that living forever in afterlife is different from living on earth. Afterlife as some say is fixed. no emotions or whatever. its either continuous joy or pain. However life on earth is full of ups and downs which make it interesting. =) theres nothing we can do abt afterlife neh? we'll just live through it forever =).

The End~

would be fun for a while........but if one mastered everything one could what would there be left to do?
Boredom would set in and you'd end up destroying things because its the only thing that makes you feel alive.

I agree with you. :] You only get one life so live it to the fullest.
I'm in Latin and Carpe Diem has got to be my favorite quote, that or "Ad astra per aspera"

even experiencing negative emotions like sadness, anger could build u stronger and will make u value the positive emotions. it kinda saddens me when we go 2 heaven we will not feel those negative emotions. Feeling happy all the time isnt exactly something that interests me. everlasting life either in hell or heaven is not something i look up to because of the fixed emotions
