Is this drama what you expected
Posted 7/5/08
I like the drama more because i feel that it was more light-hearted and cuter than the manga. I like how the story line was a bit different from the manga, because it was more interesting that way

After thinking about it, I agree with you about her insecurity motivating a lot of her actions. Have you watched episode 8 yet? Things are really getting interesting. The series has improved a lot the last couple of episodes. What do you think of Night's developing personality?

As for an anime, I would love it if they made one that was true to the manga. I hope that this series is popular enough in Japan that it will lead to an anime.

I just watched episodes 8 and 9 recently. The drama is getting interesting that's true but with only a few episodes left it felt like things are being rushed somehow. Well, that's what I feel. I like how Night is developing human personality, thanks to his interaction with different people in the series and he's going beyond his programming. I know it seems like I'm beating a dead horse when I say again that the drama has gone way off the core of the manga's story. Gomen, I can't help it. I just feel sorry for Night to be tragically treated that way. First few episodes, he was a comic relief, now he is made into an unrequited lover with a broken heart. =( What's up with that? On a positive note, I like how the other characters in the drama (ex. Soshi and Mika) are learning from Night in terms of human relationship and feelings. It's ironic, the robot is not human yet humans learn humanity from him. Now that's what I call tragic and sweet. And judging from how this series is progressing I am expecting that Night will make the ultimate sacrifice to make the people around him happy.

On another note, I think an anime version can remain true to the manga. All those scenes that are not possible to do in live action can be done in the anime. That would be awesome. *thumbs up*

Just one more quick comment, as for the actors in this live drama, I have no problems with them. They are acting their parts really well. Of course, it's hard to connect our own image of the characters that we've read in the manga to this people in real life. It's very clever of the producers of this show to change the setting of this series and tweak the characters' personalities around, so they can have freedom to interpret the characters from the manga the way they see fit. Mokomichi's portrayal of Night Tenjo is really good. I mean c'mon let's give him credit for really acting like a robot/android. He's acting is not up to par with Brent Spiner's DATA from Star Trek, but I give him kudos for doing it well because his job is tougher than the other actors in this series. Compared to what he's trying to portray, really, they have it easy.

Your comments are always very well thought out and expressed. By now, you must have seen the last episode. What did you think of the ending. You're prediction was absolutely spot on. I was both pleased and saddened from the ending. I keep wishing for another ending for Night. It was interesting to see how the people around him, including Riko, improved from their relationships with him, just as you mentioned in above.

I haven't read the manga but..It was alot better than I was expecting.
The ending was what really did it for me. Up until the ending it was like "Ooh. It's nice. And cute"
but at the end I was crying and it was really sweet.
Touching.

It's not really what I expected. it was much better then that . It made me cry in the ending. it was really sad that it ended that way. I feel sorry for nighto-kun , but it was maybe for the best that it ended as it did. I really recommend this drama, because it'll make you cry and smile. you'll really like it, if you choose to watch this drama

It would have been better if they had the robot be Yamapi.

Yeah, i agree with you.. toshiki is ugly in the drama, if he didn't die then it have been ruined.. waha..

Is this drama what you expected

- yes, they only changed some of the story but it's an excellent drama and i like the tandem of saki-hayami-hiro. kawaii.. sweet..

and it would have been better if they have kissed a lot.. and not that frigid or dry.. they should have done better like the koreans do.. hehe.. lol

BUT I REALLY LIKE THIS DRAMA! THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES.

This was way better than I expected it to be.
I didn't read the manga and I don't think I would anyway.
But I love the series!!
It's a lovely drama about innocent love as I've never watch one before.

I cried a lot as much as I laughed too.
I'm gonna recommend this :D

I totally agree with you guys, because for some of us that have actually read the manga, can do more of an honest comparison.

I read all the comments most people were so quick say I wish it was an anime...then if they made into an anime, then people would go wow, I wonder how this would be as a LA series...never be satisfied I swear.

Went into thinking that it was going to be exactly like the manga as well, so when the storyline was changed I was really surprised, especially at Soshi's character, I did think that Soshi's brother seem to fit and look of the role of Soshi. Nonetheless I too really liked how they made characters older, yeah the highschool plot is kinda of typical...and like someone said it appeals to a more wider audience, pretty much any girl in high school can get a boyfriend...whereas in the real world its more difficult to find time to date...

Overall I think that everyone played their parts extremely well, especially Night-kun he did pretty much everything he did in the manga, I think Night was more loving in the drama, also, Riko was just as she was in the manga she was the native, sensitive, cute, clusmy girl, that didn't understand what love was until she came across Night.

I think that they overall an excellent job bringing the characters to life! Yes, the drama made you laugh and cry, all at the same time. Let's face it a lot of the drama out there are too much and over dramatic and have typical plotline. This story is nice and refreshing, perhaps is giving us a peek into the not so far future.

Besides I think if they did an anime, which is still possible of course, I think that they would have exaggerated Night's robot abilities, in the drama Night looked completely human.

I live this drama an A++++++ loved it, I would definitely be watching this again^^
