blu-ray failed

actually,no ... hd-dvd did :)

Ha, wow ginger_kid made such an ignorant statement. <_<;
Blu-Ray failed? So that's why Toshiba (the main company supporting HD DVD) announced that they're no longer developing, manufacturing and marketing HD DVD players and recorders, and leaving Sony (Blu-Ray) up to the job?..

ANYWAY, I love the audio/video quality that Blu-Ray gives &plus it's Asian made c[;
We still have DVDs at home, but our Blu-Ray collection is slowly piling up!

I agree somthing new is always coming out. Givin the fact that blu-ray has great definition. They are just to costly, and the discs have so much space for no reason. So i think that blu ray is just like the ever so classic Laser Disk. it'll be out for now .. then a year later somthing else will be her to take it's place.

I read something at IGN.com some weeks ago that Blu-ray CDs aren't really sought after by consumers. I forgot the reason though -_-

Blu-ray is great if you want to stop Global Piracy. But then, it comes with a price and it's the price that most consumers can't afford. O_o

Blu-ray is actually a very good thing. The fact that you can have super-high def movies and beyond HD sound on a disk takes up around 10GB of a disc's space, weras a normal disk had a maximum of around 4gb of space. This means with blu-ray, More Hard drive memory (possibly in the 5 Terabyte range), MUCH better and larger video games and movies.
It was like when DVD's were new, and EVERYTHING got better with them, picture quality shot from the 720p max to 1080i then to 1080p, ect.
