Metric is Canadian. >.>
Aqua is terrible.
Spice Girls is pure slut.
Yeah, and anything rap. [i.e. Akon or whatever]

Anything rap? Wtf have you been smoking? If you knew anything about rap, you'd know what's really good like 2pac, Notorious B.I.G, Bone Thugs and Harmony, Tonedeff, Big L, Immortal Technique, Eminem, Nas and so many more. Don't say "anything rap" when there's a huge difference between commercial rappers (sell outs) and REAL rappers. Akon, 50 Cent, Lil' Wayne and all those corny asses can go stick a pinecone up their ass. Yeah it's hard to find good rap nowadays but the classicks can't be forgotten (yes, it's a pun). At least listen to some real rap before you judge it. sdsdfrf has the right idea about rap haters. If you hate R&B, you've been listening to the radio a bit too much. Listen to some Aaliyah (the goddess), Alicia Keys, Keisha Cole and even old school Mariah Carey.

I agree on the Greenday and My Chemical Romance part. As well as Panic! at the Disco, Maroon 5 and any other fad music. On top of that, screamo/emo music has no real rhythm (I've listened to that shit enough). Country music just sounds plain boring (but it has some meaning behind the guitar strumming and words) and whoever said they didn't like The Who, you are obviously taking something way stronger than heroin addicts. Insane Clown Posse is pftttt (intended mouth fart noise). Screw bands cause they're fads (unless they're like the modern Beatles. Then back up). Aerosmith and Daft Punk > all new school bands

Why can't people accept that not everyone is going to have the same taste in music?

It's not even to the point where it's the same taste in music. It's just pure hate on a genre of music without even considering the goodness of it but only the worst parts. These music critics judge a music genre without listening to the good stuff. I've had my share of listening to country music like Garth Brooks and LeAnn Rimes (even heavy metal with Metallica, Slipknot and Korn with a backward r) and they weren't that bad but to solely diss a genre of music without hearing the legends of it is just disgracing it. I haven't seen TWO freakin' people stick up for rap. NOT TWO. So you know what? I don't mind being one of the very few people to stick up for a genre of music that I adore. Yes, rap is good but people are belittling it's worth so it's better if it's one voice than no voice at all.

Worst bands is actually kind of difficult... But I guess...
-Insane Clown Posse
-AC/DC
-Red Hot Chili Peppers
-Melt-Banana
-any of the new "emo-screamo" bands

But if I could include "singers" and such, the list would be something like...
-Costes
-Diamanda Galas
-Paris Hilton
-Yoko Ono
-Grum Lee

AC FUCKIN DC? and RED HOT FUCKIN CHILIL PEPPERS????? I'd like to say that you're the first person to piss me off on the forums. U HAVE NO TASTE IN MUSIC WHATSOEVER. THAT IS A PURE<<PURE FUCKIN INSULT TO THOSE BANDS, no excuse me, to those LEGENDARY BANDS. PPL WHO DON't LIke them KNOW THEY ARE GOOD. so my only logical rational thought about u is, GO dig urself a hole, and go listen to those shitty emo bands kids are listening to today, and see how long u can last before ur ears start bleeding.

Oldschool rock for life. TRUE hip-hop/underground.

It's awesome that you're sticking up for artists/genres you like - I've done it multiple times myself. However, there comes a point when you have to realize that you're not going to be able to change a person's opinion.

I'm not sure about you, but if there's a genre I despise, I certainly won't go about listening to hundreds of artists. I'll give the popular ones a try simply because they're the easiest to come across. If I like it, I'll seek out more artists. If I hate it, I'm not going to hunt down the insanely obscure ones.

I absolutely detest screamo. I don't care how awesome someone claims a band to be - I refuse to have anything to do with the genre.

On the other hand, I think wizard rock is fantastic. If someone's curious, I'll definitely recommend bands/songs, but I won't waste my time if I know a person hates Harry Potter. I know there's no way they'll enjoy a genre of music devoted solely to the series.

The only type of music I think is a complete waste of time and creates so much noise that I wouldn't be able to tolerate is screamo. I'd rather try to change someone's perspective than never try. It's better to try than to never have tried at all (yes, revised a cliché quote). As for this wizard rock you speak off, please recommend some. I never read the books of Harry Potter, only watched the movies (Yes. I know the book is better) but I'm still interested.

I'm pretty open-minded when it comes to new artists/genres, but screamo is one I hate no matter what.

:D Awesome! Mainly I just stick to Jrock, but wizard rock has found a place in my heart. My favorite band would have to be The Whomping Willows (myspace.com/thewhompingwillows). A close second is Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls (myspace.com/oliverboydandtheremembralls). The Remus Lupins (myspace.com/theremuslupins) are awesome as well. The most popular wizard rock bands are Harry and the Potters & Draco and the Malfoys (both can be found on myspace).

Unfortunately, apart from a select few the entire genre consists of high school/college students who record their songs in their parents' basement, so the quality tends to suck a lot in most cases.

lol wiz-rock and their funny group names. Well, if the music can convey the artist's feelings properly, then the quality doesn't matter. Thanks again.
