What do you plan on doing for the rest of your life ? Many people say that they haven't decided yet . that they will take their time and find out what they like .

But let me warn you, you don't have as much time as you think, 20 years can go by in the blink of an eye . Do you want to look back and see that you just coasted through life , barley getting by ?

I have seen many people go back to school in their late 30`s and 40`s , but by then its too late , you will be working until you cant work any more , and either die or starve , don't count on social security to get you by , cause it wont be there in a few years .

but anyway, i didn't mean to start a rant , lol

What is your chosen profession , or what do you plan on going into?

Myself , I want to be a network consultant . So I`m going to school for networking .

Just recently , I got in as a Temporary full time employee at ford , working as a sealer in the paint department . This is not something I even have the option of doing for the rest of my life , seeing as i will be laid off in September , but the money is quite good while going to school. At $20.57 an hour , I cant wait till my first paycheck.

If you wanna be a network consultant. Go for Cisco, =D

learning networking is great fun. you learn how to hack! =D

im studying to be a product designer rite now and im in the process of applying to art school. i already graduated with a bachelors in biomedical engineering so i'll prolly design medical products some day. but in my whole career, if all goes well, ill also be designing lotsa other stuff too. like i recently worked on spaceships n stuff for a video game for my frends company. if i get the chance i also wanna do stuff like cell phones and ipods and movie concepts, etc. and travel the world as im doing it (esp italy and japan!)..

i wanna do as many different things as possible cuz i kno i get bored easily. thats y i shifted from engineering to design.

Well, I'm currently going to school for a degree in Engineering Technology. Next year I'll be throwing Chinese (I should be taking 3 years total) on to the load, and the year after that I'll be throwing on some international business and supply chain management. I'll probably end up focusing on digital technology, but I have a while before I have to specialize.

I decided on this path for several reasons, even though I'm not in love with electronics. My skills and interests are more liberal arts oriented, like english and history. Problem was they don't make any money as fun as the job may be. My next thought was a computer science field of some kind, like programming. The problem is the career field is oversaturated. There are tons of bright kids who are graduating high school who know as much as people with a BS in the field. They're a dime a dozen and the demand is only going to drop as more and more companies outsource. So the new objective became find a career in an in demand field with good job security and a way to adapt and capitalize on the global market, as well as build on my communication skills.

The idea is to carve out a niche for myself in the global market. Basically, I decided to find a way to make myself market and capitalize on the exploding chinese economy. I've had some electronics experience in the Air Force, and some excellent connections in industry in the civilian sector. Right now there is a huge gaping hole of people who understand technology and re capable of interfacing with the chinese, as well as an understanding of the market in general. You tend to have people overly specialized now. Engineers can barely communicate to non-engineers, let alone the chinese. Those involved with business have no understanding of technology (and often drive corporations to disaster because of it) even if they are capable of dealing with the chinese.

Everything is looking good for an internship in China this summer, about 100 miles inland from Hong Kong. I'm going to be learning a little chinese on my own to help prepare, but I'm pretty used to wandering around foreign countries not being able to speak the language so we'll see. Not sure what exactly I'll be doing over there, but it looks like something related to quality assurance. Fine by me, I just can't wait to throw it on the ol' resume.

People I've talked to in industry have told me that with that plan I can basically name my price, but we'll see how things turn out.

I'm doing internship type thing and basically I'm done my schooling and I'm just getting "on job" training I'm an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) The great thing tho is how slack my job is cuz of where I basically mostly deal with Overdoses and Old people falling. It's fun tho

And if your wondering I did 20 week theory portion and I'm doing my 174 hours of on job training
