® Is the Jersey Devil a Myth or Fact?

If you ever get the opportunity to witness first hand a New Jersey Fall day, with the leaves changing from green to bright reds, yellows and oranges, you are blessed. I love the Fall, and usually take drives out to see the spectacular sight. My favorite place to visit is South Jersey. There is a section of New Jersey called the Pineland, a wooded area which is predominately pines and sandy earth. This area is infamous for its own legend the Jersey Devil. The story dates back to the late 1800s, a poor woman with 12 children lived in a barren section of the Pinelands. She was nine months pregnant, and about to give birth to number 13. Since there were no doctors around, a midwife was called in. It was late at night and the woman was having a terrible time with the birth. In her fit of pain, she yelled out to the devil "curse this child for all his pain". At that moment, she gave birth to a hideous monster, the child had a head shaped like a horse, long and elongated, with a protruding nose. Instead of arms, there were two knob like stumps with flaps of skin drooping down, resembling wings. The legs were shaped like legs from a horse and there were no toes. The creature had a tail, a long tail. The creature let out a non-human howl and flew up the chimney and hasn't been sighted again. But the howling still exist to this day. As I was stopping on the side of the road to take in the beauty, the sun was just about at dusk. It was a quiet evening, and not a soul was around. I closed my eyes and took in my surroundings, I heard a sound, a sound I have never heard in my life, a deep growling howl. It sounded nothing like a human, but again nothing like a canine. A howl that I wouldn't know exactly what animal class to place it in. Goosebumps appeared on my arm, it didn't sound very close but it wasn't too far from me. I felt a presence that something else was there with me, watching me from afar. I slowly got back into my car and locked the doors, and vowed never to drive alone in these parts...☺

i saw that on the show scariest places on earth
it was pretty scary but the picture they had of it looked more like the devil than a horse and the story about the mother was true too
but they also said that (i think) that he came back to kill one of the other sons and u can still find the house where it was born
yeah but i comend u for ur bravery for going out there alone, even if you didnt know about

sounds real scary and spooky at night as the trees will make the area darker even at full moon and camping with kids and ghost stories will amplify its scary place .

...a wise man once said:" The greatest trick the DEVIL ever pulled was making the world believe that he doesn't exist". I used to live in Jersey(RESPECT) and I have SEEN the JERSEY DEVIL!!! whether it is the cursed spawn of a witch or some un-known creature, I don't know....BUT I do know what I saw! if you really want to solve a mystery than let's discuss the PLATYPUS! seriously??? WTF happened there?

A zoo in New Jersey offers $1,000,000 for those who can capture a Jersey Devil.
Looks like it's hunting time.
