Please please please do something about the picture quality. Poor edsamac's photos do not deserve to look the way they look on the onirigi website. I'm just using his work as an example. Image headers are also affected. I don't know if it's the extension you use or the compression setting you have when you upload them into the website.

The interview was great, it's how they should be done. With a casual, relaxed tone and atmosphere. I am not a fan when interviews look like they came out of a journalism 101 class. So this time I really liked the interview section. One thing though, those lines used to separate the statements....not really necessary in my opinion.

Most interviews that I read start with a small introduction about the person that is going to be interviewed and then small preview that gives transitiion to the interview itself.

Example:

A conversation with: Arano; Media moderator and Movie Fanatic
by: Dusterbayala

blah blah we sat down with arano blah blah describe what he does on cr blah blah we discussed this and that "over a few beers"

Q: Hi arano, and thank you so much for agreeing to let us interview you!
Why don't you tell us a little bit about yourself?

A: I am a mid twenties guy, living in germany-west, I like: playing the jewharp,DBSK and ikebana......etc...etc

I am just saying, I found the line distracting and it kind of interrupts the flow of the interview, especially this one because this time there was a more dynamic conversational tone to it. I think a simple space and something to distinguish who wrote what (bold 'Q' and 'A', or a using interviewer and interviewee's names in different colors ) during the interview will do =p

I'll post more once I have the time to read the rest.

PS: Maybe it's me, but let's say you wanted to go directly to, for exmaple the page where edsamac's work is featured, I see no link that will take me there directly in the "How to read the Onigiri E-zine" section.

Maybe there should be an index, don't you think?

PPS: below ed's photos it says :"See the original image here" but there is no link or hyperlink posted.

Issue 10's Review Section was pretty sloppy... no offense. There was the pretty little Review Banner, and boxes that left me going "what the hell are these boxes?" for some time. First of all I believe that we should have banners for all the review sections. For the love of god, please get rid of those hideous boxes... please.. The review section from what I've seen could have been checked over a little bit before it was released.

In that little hideous box with Music Reviews list in it, my article wasn't in there. Although when you checked to look at the Music Reviews PAGE, it was there. Plus when I checked the Drama Reviews section, the listed ones weren't exactly in order before you checked the page. LIFE was the first article when you went to the page, but when you checked the list before clicking on the page it was in the middle. Hopefully you get what I mean.

I also find it a huge pain to read articles on the website, the orange borders seems a little too fat and too dark that it seems like it's clashing with the articles (reviews, etc.) Make them match the colors of the background of the articles or something, shrink the borders quite a bit (like CR's light green little borders you really can't notice.) Also Mauz brought this up too about the quality of images going down... yeah... I noticed that too. No offense to Duster or anybody, but maybe we should have a "clean up" editor for the website to just make things pretty and place them in the right order. That is if you don't have the time to do it yourself... not trying to be rude.

The little boxes around the Track numbers on my article aren't the prettiest, or they could've been used mroe effectively imo. You see the boxes were just around the track number, but not the track's title. Obviously I feel that if there were to be boxes around the track numbers that the song's title be included in that box. Also, please, if you want to put the articles in boxes maybe you could darken those boxes by a lot.

http://theonigiri.com/i10musrev.aspx

Notice how the first one's text just POPs, yet the rest are extremely dull? Yeah.. that's the thing about the boxes.

I guess I should have brought this up before.. oh well.

Thanks for the feedback!

However, there are a few things you guys should know..

@Mauz
Yes i understand about the picture quality, this will be fixed when we switch hosts in August, for now it's the best we(i) can afford.
*side note, i missed the links to his original pictures, sorry i had been awake for four days.. i was missing a few things. I will address those links in just a few moments.

@Hokie
The color scheme looks different on everyone's comps... the words pop on my comp. That's why i ask everyone to reveiw their articles prior to release. These are things you should have mentioned to me before we released.
And again the image quality is all due to microsuck who's currently hosting us atm. The image quality will improve greatly after we make the hosting switch in August.
The track numbers were set aside in the original article, i tried to preserve that. If you wanted the song titles you should have written it that way hokie. I can only do with what's submitted.

And about the boxes - the last time i went really dark with the articles as to what i thought they should be, however, i was given a lot of hard criticism about them being too difficult on the eyes, so i tried to lighten everything up. I can't do the entire thing with dark boxes and light text... it would be too hard on the eyes.

Again, formatting issues you should have brought to my attention prior to release.

And fyi, the boxes aren't staying anymore.. .this will probably be the last issue with them. I'll be coding the entire thing in HTML and Java next issue so that becomes a non-issue.

Well it's my thoughts on the issue. :O It's not like I tried to be like "BITCH PLEASE CHANGE THAT SHIT!! YOU DID A HORRIBLE JOB ON MAH SHIT. FUK U BETCH". I guess I over exaggerated.. ah... I'll try harder not to come off like that next time. :~/... Oh well it's been read, changing it will do nothing.

Just make sure that you know, I'm not mad at anyone. As much as it may sound like I'm saying it just to say that I'm not, even though I actually may be mad at someone.... I seriously am not mad. I just... gave off the wrong tone with my words... :O... I tried to make it sound calm.. and I failed... poor me.

Hokie you live to moan don't you =P.
Right right i'll answer- but you owe me an icecream! ^-^

I don't know what the boxes are about. I think it's the only way we can get colours with the host we're on. we're switching soon ^-^.

Hokiiiiie - you're a staff member- do what they all did and point out things like this in the Issue 10 group. There's bound to be some mistakes and we rely on all staff to spot them ^-^

We can't do anything about that i'm afraid. I've tried (as i'm sure other editors have) using different formats but they don't look any different. The image system on the host is silly =(

Again hokie- wrong place! Onigiri 10 group where everyone else is saying these things.....

Thanks for the feedback ^-^.
But..... we've had the onigiri issue 10 web pages on the Onigiri 10 group for about 3 weeks asking everyone to check things. Perhaps this time you should have a look at your work before the release date- just say anything you want changing and we shall (aslong as you don't want it to be renamed 'the hokie' =P) ^-^

@mao - permission to have dinner then reply? I think shelly covered everything though.

I don't really mind if my pictures are of lowered quality ~ as long as they are hyperlinked to the original image, then that's fine with me. In fact, those images are reduced versions of the true original, which I keep with me. The images are usually 3.5 MB, but I reduce them to around 700 KB for online distribution purposes... kinda minor, and much of the discrepancy is in size... but meh.

Overall, there are just some issues with layout, but that may be because I'm a Mac user.

Can I ask who came up with that ChocoMint Ice Cream? I'd like to thank the hell outta them for sending that for people to view 'cause I got bored and made some and it was awesome! I'll probably end up tryin' the other recipes at some point or another.
