I didn't believe it at first but it's been all over the news sites and tv, a man who had cut the tip off his finger off grew it back after four weeks of using a regenerative powder!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7354458.stm

even though clinical trials are yet to be performed I still think that it's amazing.

actually there is a certain amount of fingertip that will grow back if its cut off. thats not news, its just biology. least it was when i was at uni. (where i too i sliced the tip of my little finger off, ironically in the biology department).

dont be surprised if suddenly this miracle dust is on the market, at a price. but dont think itll grow back an arm or a leg.

im surprised this one got past the BBC!

It got past everyone, bar the independent who were quite sceptical, it's nowhere near regenerating limbs, but who knows where regenerative science could go in the next few decades. How much of a finger would grow back on it's own if it was cut off? I thought half and inch was quite a lot to lose.

it didnt look like half an inch on the photo either which made me suspicious too. he said it was down to the bone, but poke your finger at the end and see if you have a half inch before you hit the bony tip of your finger. you would have really spongy fingers if you did! im sure it would vary by a millimetre or two on the person and the finger im sure. i took off a siginificant chunk. but it wasnt that much, mine was right to the top of the bone. grew back no problem. without his magic pig crack too!

I thought it was pretty amazing too. Until I found out that when my dad cut a part of his finger off it grew back w/o any pixie dust. It made me wonder if it really was the pixie dust. Some people have really good healing capabilities.

Yeah that's very true. It's not like he had to grow any bone back or anything. I cut a large portion of my palm off a couple years ago, and there's not even a scar anymore.
