What do u look for in a novel/book?

I like it to be a combo of romance, lies, sci-fi, etc. I like my novels to be the thriller type.

a good plot, in-depth characters, good setting, good dialogue, a hint of romance(or more!), some action and perhaps some comic relief

No love triangles. A good plot, high in vocabulary, is famous for its publishing, and is fantasy.
For example, Twilight.

Intricate style of world play
Deep plots.
Excellent grammar.
Great character developments.
A novel that will screw with your mind or preferably will make you think.
Organized trail of thoughts.
Unpredictable or at least not that predictable flow of the story.
A novel with double meanings/interpretations. It's always nice to discover the author's secret message to his/her readers.
I like the protagonist of the story to be imperfect, unlike some novels who portray their protagonists a la Superman or James Bond. Pft.
Anything goes with me. I'm very keen with grammar as I've mentioned above.
Also, I like my novels to have a horizon of endings. A lot of novels have this narrow-minded ending where that's it... that's done and over with. Happily or depressingly ever after. A novel is considered great if the readers could actually imagine themselves in the story or at least part of it in someway. A great novel is when the readers could do their own little twists and turns.

I read every sort of genre there is, EXCEPT for erotica, pure romance and theology/religious books (Yuck).
