No love triangles. A good plot, high in vocabulary, is famous for its publishing, and is fantasy.
For example, Twilight.

No love triangles, huh? isn't twilight like a romance novel where the girl character has to choose between 2 guys...

I like books to be fairly long, with an engaging writing style + interesting plot.

I really don't know if this is already a thread, but anyways....what do u look for in a novel? what types of plots, characters, themes, genres, etc? List examples

For me, i really like books with lots of background info and have characters that develope throughout the novel...i think series novels are really good b/c the more u know about the story/characters the more u get interested in the novel..ex. HP

Well... what i look in a book is first impression of any type.

comic relief, romantic moments, and just shock moments. Basically, a book/novel that will make me make facial expressions just like when I watch shows on TV.

well developed charactors who you actually care about, a story that doesnt take four chapters to get going, a well structured plot, lack of continuity errors.....

I love a good, intricate plotline... something that keeps you intrigued. Also, the characters have to be realistic... the more developed the character's motives and history are, the better. I really love short stories, too... they can be so involved without telling you very much at all. O. Henry FTW!

haha twilight series
In a book I look for:
FANTASTY/ROMANCE, one that makes you think, and with characters around my age
good summary/plot, suspense, yea basically twilight since most ppl know that one but there are others...

Good plot is important, but I tend to gravitate toward stories rich in character development. It can have an amazing plot, but if I don't care about the characters, it's hard to stay with the story.

Believeable characters and a decent story.
