well for me the song that touched me the most was taion. When i first saw this song, i didn't understand anything until i scrolled down on the comments and found out the story behind this song, if you guyz don't know the story, this song is about a girl in the 11th grade who had gotten kidnapped by4 guyz and was raped, and beaten really badly, so bad that it took her an hour to go to the bathroom, the boy's parents were afraid to tell anybody because the boy knew the mob, and could get them killed. She eventually died when the 4 boys had beaten her with a barbell and had poured lighter fluid on her face, stomach, and set her on fire. she died out of shock. I was really moved when i read this. Ruki was deeply moved when he had heard about this, he was 6 years old when this happened. The kidnappers didn't know what to do with the body, so they poured cement on her and put her in the lake

Oh hard one. I think that Wakaremichi was the one though.

I love this song, because it makes me think of friends. I don't know why, perhaps it's the idea of saying goodbye to one. Parting roads from each others different paths, seems hard. But, it's something that happens very often. This song just makes me think of alot of happiness that can just go away once you part from that person you care and love.

I also think that Baretta is a lovely song. It always makes me happy when I hear Aoi's and Uruha's duet. Beautiful.

The Decomposition Beauty performance of Taion really touched me. I was in tears. It's such a powerful performance.
Miseinen is another; Reila as well; Guren had me speechless; Okuribi is very touching; and kyomu no owari hakozume no mokushi is a very powerful song I think, I'd love to see it live.

the first song i ever liked from GazettE is cassis which led me to being a total fan.
but that wasn't the song that touched me the most.

the song that really touched me was miseinen. i really found the lyrics touching.
i cried [no, seriously. i did] the first time i watched it live [in crunchyroll and not in a concert] because ruki was crying when he was singing. it just really touched me. u_u

Hmm I'd say there are countless GazettE songs which have touched me. The way the songs are composed and arranged along with the meaning of the lyrics makes it really hard not to be touched by certain perfomances. I could probably talk about this topic all day but instead I'll just focus on a few songs:

Miseinen
The first time I came across this song was the PV. At first I only heard the intro but didn't may much attention to it. I then watched the full PV and was almost in tears after. Before even looked up the lyrics something about this song clicked with me right away. As soon as I heard the chorus it was like listening to a distan memory. It felt so familiar to me even though I hadn't heard it before in my life. After watching the live performance and reasing the lyrics I was even more moved. After starting to understand that the song was about the struggles faced by youth I understand why this song impacted me right away. It weird its somehow subconsciously I understood the theme of the song even before knowing what it meant. >> yeah I know that sounds stupid.

Taion
I think the lyrical content of this was the main reason I was moved by this song. I head heard of what the song was about before I heard it but until I actually looked up the case I had no idea how horrible it actually was. The Decompsition Beauty live performance of this song truly moved me. I think its one of the first songs that have atually made me cry.

Okuribi
For some reason I was touched by this song right away. The live performance was really powerful. Funnily enough I read in an intervew from 2003 that Ruki was really moved when he performed this song. After looking up the lyrics Okirubi [Ceremonial Bonfire - As in the bonfire performed at funerals] is about dealing with grief and moving on after a loved on has passed away. I think its a song that many people would relate to at some point in their lives which is one of the reasons why I love it so much.

Wakaremichi
There are a lot of things I find touching about this song. Firstly the lyrical content. Just as Sewa mentioned it beautifully describes the sadness felt when parting with a loved one. Although I loved this song right away, I think the point where I was truly moved was when I watched a live performance of the song where the fans sung along. It was just so amazing, again I was almost in tears.

Ray
I was moved my this song the first time I heard it. The amount of emotion Ruki puts into this song whilst singing was just astounding. After reading the lyrics I was able to understand why. The song just deals with the theme of sadness. And I'm not sure but I think it seems to be that without the Ray [hope?] one can't overcome feelings to deep sadness and would continue to live the rest of their life in despair. In some ways its a song about hope yet at the same time it has a very solemn feel to it.

Kyomu no Owari Hakozume no Mokushi
As Nara said, this is a very powerful song. The first time I heard it I felt so emotional. After reading the lyrics I was truly amazed. It was so sad, yet poetic. Even the title "The end of nothingness. Revleation Packed in a box." is powerful on its own.

Baretta
Although this song is beautiful [and sad] lyrically I think it was the composition of this song that truly moved me. The it was the solos in the middle that really took me in right away. And the way Ruki performs this song is really emotional as well, and the effects he used such as fading his vioce towards the end really amazed me. I always find the NLSG live perofmance of this song beautiful.

Carry?
I know a lot of people don't consider this as a song which moved them but for me it somehow did. Despite being such an energitic song the meaing is so sad. I find this song is quite hard to interperet [despite being entirely in English] but from what I can gather it seems like its to do with a parting of a loved one due to harsh unforseen cirucumstances [possibly by the death of a partner?] For some reason I've always found this song really interesting, and its harshness takes you in right away. Its a heavy song with a strangely melancholy feel to it.

Zakurogata no Yuutsu
Another song which I found moved me from the moment I heard it. Again Ruki puts so much emotion into it. From what I've read of the lyrics it seems to be about a person who has to make the difficult decision to switch off the life support for their terminally ill partner and must accept the fact that they have to let them go. After reading the lyrics I was even more touched. Even the title itself "A pomegraneate shaped melancholy" is beautiful.

Toguro
I think this song is beautifully intense. The first time I heard it I was just amazed. And the way Ruki repeats the word "itai" [it hurts] at the end just lingers on in my mind. Its quite chilling.

Worthless War
Although I didn't think much of this song at first, I was moved after watching the subbed DB performance. Unlike the other songs I mentioned [which were more to do with dealing with everyday emotions] this song covers more political issues. I feel I agree with Ruki in so many ways that there's no need to try and create a war or conflict by making excuses for something that is unessary and just let people live their lives in peace.

Filth in the Beauty
Ok I this probably sounds really unusual for someone to think of this as a song that moved them, due to its lyrical content, but somehow I felt that this song really left an impact on me. It was one of the reasons why I got into GazettE. Its just a very powerful song and very well composed. The contrast between heavy and dark themes just left an impact on me right away. The live DB performance even moved me to some extent. Ok I know a lot of people seem to skim through the lyrics, realise its about incest and then get freaked out. But I think if you take the time to actually read the lyrics, it looks like it deals with the story of a a girl/woman who is/was sexually abused/raped by her father and the emotional stuggle and torment she had to deal with, whilst at the same time looks at the father's point of view. Err that probably sounded really confusing and made no sense, but somehow I was moved that Ruki was able to write about a song with such a terrible and disturbing theme and sort of bring the fact to the surface that awful things can occur like this in reality.

Erm anyway..

-_________-;; I'm sorry for the really long post (it went on for longer than I intended) , but if anyone is acutally patient enough to read any of my rambling you definately deserve a cookie ^__^

Like all the other fans before me, I cannot choose one ^^

In order, I'd have to say Taion, Miseinen, Burial Applicant, Wakeremichi, and Baretta. When I first saw the PV for Taion (which was when I was searching for new songs), I wasn't impressed because I couldn't understand the entire order of things; but then, Ruki's always complex and profound with his song meanings. I think it was the DB performance of Taion that truly touched me. Ruki simply channelled the poor girl's excruciating pain, and the energy that they created with that intensity was simply overwhelming. I looked up the news article it was referring to, and the ghastly details really made me even more affected ^^;; The lyrics, although repetitive, are just strong themselves; I'd have to say I was pretty impressed with Ruki's accuracy while singing in English (besides the mispronounciation of 'eardrum' >>w>>), and how he kept that potency throughout.

I'm not that fond of Miseinen, the song, but I really loved the lyrics. I risk sounding corny ^^ but I really could relate to the experience it was describing; the feeling of needing to rely on yourself instead of finding help from others. Although I haven't completely agreed to it's conclusion ( which will come around, hopefully), I'm just really loving Ruki for creating lyrics that convey something really particular; it's really that kind of song that makes me feel connected to the band---> xDDDDD

Burial Applicant. Ah, well, I think the scrapbook with the words, 'Die for me,' and the words, 'Die for me, for me, you can't save me,' are enough to explain why I suddenly teared up.

Wakeremichi was just a truly classic romantic situation in my opinion. I was really touched when I discovered, reading along, that it was a parting of an idealistic relationship, that was bound to fall apart, due to reality.

Baretta had confusing lyrics, at least for me. Thus, I am still in the process of analyzing ^_^ However, I have to say that I can at least decipher the same sad valediction Ruki expressed in Reila.

I keep editing this, but I really needed to add Kare Uta to my list. The lyrics were just unbelievably touching when I saw the translation. Those words of a perishing poem, a withering voice that continued to echo even when he'd thought he had accepted and understood the farewell and the need to let go, had left him confused, as he'd discovered there was harrowing vestige of that memory still hurt him deeply. I'm sorry that was such a convoluted sentence ^^;;; I just didn't know how to phrase it well. Kare Uta really seemed singular from the other songs I'd heard before.

I also really loved the two bonus tracks from the Guren single. Kugutsu e and Kyoumunoowari Hakozumenomokushi are just phenomenal. I really wish I could find the translation for Kyoumunoowari Hakozumenomokushi, so that I could understand it better, but even so, at the moment, I'm just captivated by the music itself.

Thank you for creating this topic ^_^ It gives me a chance to see other people's reactions to their lyrics...as difficult as most them are >>>w<<<

I have to go with Miseinen too. It was the one song that really got to me after I read the translation of it somewhere. The whole first verse could be taken from my own life experiences and it gives me strength when I feel like giving up.

Chizuru was the song that really got me into Gazette, my boyfriend and I went through a rough time in our relationship that lead to a breakup in the end. This song helped me cope and get over him.

I love the DB version of Taion, I remember crying through the entire performance. The lyrics are so horrible, but I love that Ruki wrote it because there needs to be more songs like that. It makes you think.
