Coming from the Retail aspect of the Gaming world. I'd say in recent years it's been Fable 2/3 Duke Nukem Forever and Overall The Call of Duty series. (hasn't been good since MWf1) Also Too Human And Lair for the PS3.

I have played all the Halo games and all the CoD games...

Among them Halo 3: ODST, Halo Wars and CoD MW3, CoD World at War are the most over-rated games ever made... The fact that they all sold millions of copies is irrelevant... Keep in mind that a majority of humans are stupid...

Other overrated games include:
World of Warcraft, Star Wars The Force Unleashed, Star Wars Battlefront (but Battlefront 2 was awesome), Final Fantasy 12...

Call of Duty is really the only one that comes to mind. I only pick on Call of Duty because they appear to be re-releasing the same game over and over again.
