1) What makes you suitable for this? Put your experiences and skills here (if any)

I have good time keeping skills which I believe is important, I am a quick learner and rarely need to ask things twice. I have some background in the duty of a forum mod. I know most video formats and have some video editing skills. I have alot of knowledge in HTML and Graphics Design. I very well organized and can multi-task pretty well. I am very trustworthy and great at working with a group or totally by myself. I have good communication skills.
I will always give people the benefit of the doubt. I love to listen to what people have to say. I do want to uphold CR standards which inspirit me to apply for the chance to help CR. I have helped CR with posting in the "Report Video Comment Spammers and non-PG13 Profiles!" whenever I see it. I will always ask other staff if unsure on anything and I am never afraid of a challenge.
I like to think that I’m a Gaming Expert, I know loads of information on most games, which I believe will be helpful in Game Video area as organizing all the Game Videos into there folders, and can tell what a game is just by looking at a video or screenshot.

2) What type of CR videos are you most familiar with (anime, drama, etc)?

Anime and Game Videos, but if needed can research in background information on anything.

3) How much time do you spend on CR? How much time will you be able to dedicate to CR?

I spend quite alot of time CR. I’m not just saying to impress anyone. it's my homepage. I am more than willing to use that time working for CR, as I feel that I need to give something back to CR. To give you a number, around 4-8 hours per day would be how much time I would spend on working.
I know reading is a drag, but thanks for looking anyways…
Thanks, Houck

1. What makes you suitable for this? Put your experiences and skills here (if any)

Pros
- I am quite knowledgeable at computer programming (html, C++, Java)
- I edit/make my own videos so I have quite a lot of experience in that respect
- I am one of Crunchyroll’s oldest members and I have seen the changes implemented. Therefore, I know how to respond to certain situations based on past precedents.
- I am extremely patient (especially with new users) so I won’t be losing my temper easily with inappropriately labeled videos or other mistakes made by users.
- I am extremely gregarious and will be able to transfer this to communicating well with the other Mods. Therefore helping to ease the transition phase.
- I watch many drama, music, and anime videos so I have a good idea of what videos have already been uploaded. This will help me quicken the approving rate of the videos.
- I am not afraid to ask questions when I do not know something.
- I have extremely good organizational capabilities because of my summers working at a hospital.
- I have just finished my college applications and am a senior in high school so I will have plenty of free time to approve videos.
- I am a fast learner
- I have seen the mod’s slog for over a year so I am well aware of the responsibilities and am prepared to accept them.
- I have been a moderator for http://mytabletennis.net and www.tennis-warehouse.com
- I am extremely resourceful with search engines and the internet in general. I can usually find what I am looking for within 10 minutes of searching.

Cons
- Unfortunately, the only languages I speak fluently are English, Spanish and Hindi. However, I have a general (extremely limited) understanding of Chinese.
- I have not posted that much on forums (as can be seen from my cr points).
- I do not have any media mod experience (only forum mod).
- I have not uploaded any videos. However, that is only because all the videos I actually download are already uploaded.

2. What type of cr videos are you most familiar with (anime, drama, etc)?
The main videos I watch on cr are anime, jdrama, cdrama and music videos (generally Japanese and Chinese). However, I have recently gotten extremely interested into Korean dramas and other Asian country dramas (especially Thai).

3. How much time do you spend on CR? How much time will you be able to dedicate to CR?
As I mentioned before, I have just finished college applications so I have a lot of free time. I usually end up going to bed around 2 am and from the time I get home (4 pm) I generally check up on the cr forums every 15 minutes. I also usually watch at least 3 hours of video per weekday and around 5 hours per weekend. On Holidays I watch more than that. I am easily able to dedicate 3+ hours a day to CR media moderating.

Please consider me as a candidate!

1) What makes you suitable for this? Put your experiences and skills here (if any)

For being an active Uploader ever since March, I am very familiar with the CR uploading process. With the latest changes to the uploading form, I am more familiar with what the media moderators have to do each time a video requires approval.

Ever since CR began having troubles with encoding softsubs, I began to find various ways of recoding them to hardsubs. Thanks to that, I am more familiar with encoding, typesetting, VDM, and various encoders, converting, and subtitling programs

I am also involved in several CR related projects such as The Onigiri as a reviewer and on occasion the CR Fansubbing team. I also administrate The Onigiri forums and deal with any technical problems that should occur.

Lately, I started an Anime Club (otherwise known as the Japanese Culture Club) at my school. Having organized members, gathered equipment, and helped moderate our official forums, I have gained an insight at what people with no knowledge about anime feel and help guide them away from mainstream anime.

CR community-wise, I report duplicate videos, duplicate threads and report posts that don’t follow CR’s standard of posting. In the chats, I help the moderators and operators by telling users that they are breaking the chat rules and report spammers.

In the past, I have asked for some of videos to be approved, only when I was confident enough that I was first one, which I assume was, considering some of them did get approved. Having known that this was bothering some of the moderators I have stopped doing this and let the videos get approved when they get approved. Should I get chosen, I know that the videos that get approved are the ones that encode first, meaning the one that has the lower media reference ID.

Since I am Canadian, I am multi-lingual having being taught English, French, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hakka and Japanese (In order of fluency)

With my knowledge of the anime world, current, past and future, I hope to bring my open-mindedness and resourcefulness to the CR Team.

2) What type of cr videos are you most familiar with (anime, drama, etc)?

I am most familiar with Anime as you can see from my Dedicated Release time Profile and my Fall Anime Preview in the forums. As an avid anime watcher, I know which fansubs have better overall quality of others and the approximate date of when they release. Recently, I have gotten access to a dedicated server and a bot run by one of my friends on IRC in order to speed up the uploading process. I am also capable of dealing with Games and Member videos.

3) How much time do you spend on CR?

I spend most of my free time on CR, whether it’s uploading or browsing the forums or chatting away in the chats. So I am online around 8-9 hours daily on average. I am also able to increase my activity time as I have access to a computer while I am at school throughout the day.

How much time will you be able to dedicate to CR?

Should I be chosen, I am able to dedicate 90% of the time stated above. I am more than ready to take on the responsibility of a moderator and help make CR a better place for everyone.

Congrats to the new mods.

I'm kinda confused though. Did we need any new anime media mods, or that many of them for that matter?

I thought the other sections were the ones in need.

^^ You are looking at things from a restricted view. what was mainly needed was organization, knowledge in games, music, and drama.

Suicider-Game

Ok that's one.

Quick question, how much of a say did the current media mods have in this?

Just asking.

^^ How about we stop assuming things weakly based? (ex: from mere gossip)

^ Every active mod had an equal say on this. As simple as that.

The thread is to congratulate the mods, stay on topic
