I want to buy an RX7 or Toyota MR2. What is their to look for when buying one on a budget of $1000+? And taking into account the insurance, gas mileage, or repair (if needed)?

as for a rx7 heres two link on what to look
http://www.aaroncake.net/RX-7/buy1.htm - N/A
http://www.aaroncake.net/RX-7/buy2.htm - Turbo

Since most of this cars are 20 yrs+ expect to do a rebuild on them unless they show paper work. If your lucky you can find one thats cheap and still running until due for a rebuild.

HAHAHA here I am trying to find information about RX 7 online...thanks! What is a GTU rx 7? I know that it has to do with body style and options, but I am not fully understanding it.

If you have time to read, heres the option that came with it:

Click on the 1988 for the S4 Rx7 Model. As for the S5 Rx7 it has the GTU and GTUs (1989-1990)

For everyone thinking about getting an RX7, I own one and I know a lot about them in general. So you can PM me any questions.

Overall I would say the second gen RX7's (FC) is a good first car if you don't mind working on it yourself and don't mind the 25ish MPG. But if you are a lazy bastard that wants a car to just take you from A to B then get an old Honda or something.

Haha sweet. What model do you have...and is it a S4 or S5...I have one too almost done putting it all back together although it needs to get painted. BTW Do you go to rx7club?nopistons?rotarycarclub?

Nah, I use to hang out at some of those sites back in the day but not any more. My car is an S4 with S5 stuff on it. Right now the interior is stripped (it just has one seat and a cage) because I use to race it (legally).

This year I'm gonna strip all the race bit's off and bring it back to stock. I'm over all that nowadays, I just want it to work and be comfortable. So out goes the turbo and in goes the NA.
