I really hate those stupid girls who are pretty much useless, yet they are seen as one of the main characters of the series?? And they just stand there and get in the way and say the protagonist's name over and OVER. I swear, they're only there for a love interest, and they're pretty crap ones at that.

Filler is a big one depending on how it is done. Haruhi's someday in the rain was a perfect parody of a filler episode. Also an anime where basically it always comes down to one hero being the heroic one and the other characters are just there for show (you know what animes you are).

Oh god, this is getting long. I'll stop now.

i love your wording and agree with you a tiny bit, but anime is fiction for a reason, and is made to appeal to several different audiances, that doesn't mean all audiances mind, as for the quote's i've left in your quote bubble,

"there's always a transfer stutend in the male lead character's class" well if the goings on were in a side-characters class while the entire story revolved around the main character, you wouldn't really see much would you? you may see them in class and a few fireballs out the window but that's about it, ofcourse whatever the story revolves around is going to be the main character :P

when done right, the perverted best friend is great, example - kore wa zombie desu ka, especially season 2.

"the diabetes inducing transformation scenes" ok, yes i kinda agree, 1 transformation scene is enough, per character per anime, but each time it does get rather annying, erza's re-quip from fairy tail animation lasted quite a few arcs, and then re-appeared later on i beleive, i don't remember if the transformation scenes lasted too long in madoka magica, but i still agree, (once again there are exeptions, aikawa's masou shojou transformation in kore wa zombie desu ka for example :p)

I personally get tired of the old anime cliches that float around from show to show. The genre suffers from the same problems as most syndicated television shows in the US do.

This probably explains why I am so very selective about what shows I will watch.. and even more selective about which ones I will spend money on to watch more than once.

Some spoilers, so heads up:

-------------

My biggest gripe is when an anime series ends poorly. For example, in Fortune Arterial, the first part of it was interesting. Then the ending happens and it just, sort of happens. No big showdown, no real character growth, the guy just faces the girl's powerful mother, gets beat, and takes the girl back to school with him.

I understand that if an anime is based off existing material, they can't always do their own thing. Of course, they should still try to make it interesting.

In Oreimo, episode 12's "Good End" for instance, Kirino ends up not going to the US after all, because of what the girl in the game they were playing said.

However, we still managed to get the "True Route" episodes, where she did in fact leave, and Kyousuke goes to the US to bring her back, and essentially says the same thing that the girl in the game of the "Good end" said. Sure, it wasn't the same thing, but I think if you didn't watch the "True Route" episodes, then the "Good end" ended on a fairly decent note.

------------

Another thing: I generally like harem shows, but I hate it when the guy doesn't pick someone at the end. That said, however, I can understand that if the anime team picks a girl out of the blue, it may also incite fan rage as well. Not to mention if there is other source material, such as manga or a light novel, then their hands may also be tied, hence why the guy may not pick any one girl.

Clannad I think did an excellent job at this. They pick one girl right at the beginning, and largely develop the series around her, although the other girls get their screentime as well.

Love Hina I think did a fairly good job as well. Keitaro was convinced Naru was the girl who spoke those words to him in the beginning of going to Tokyo U together and getting married, but Naru claims she isn't, and then Mutsumi shows up to make things even more confusing for the poor guy. And the other girls even call out Naru on her mixed messages to Keitaro, wondering why she won't confess to him, but then beats him up if he so much looks at another girl, or another one shows interest in him.

Elfen Lied was an interesting example of conflicting interests. The anime makes it pretty clear that Kohta wants to be with Lucy (never mind that she killed his sister and father right in front of him), and Yuka indirectly concedes defeat. However, in the manga, Yuka is pretty much the "winner" in this case (seeing as how Lucy's dead by that point kind of helps her advantage), and in a distant finale about 10 years later you see Kohta along with their daughter Nyu as he waits for a friend at the end.

Shuffle was an interesting case. While I wasn't a big fan of Asa, she did have the most dramatic "problem" in the visual novel, and I guess the anime team wanted to "shock" viewers by having Rin choose someone other than the "first girl" (Kaede, in this case), without having to go the School Days route.

I get your reasoning and all of these things wouldn't bug me if countless anime used them over and over and over and over and over again. It gets extremely stale and boring after a while. Sometimes, irritating. That's all.

I hate that every romance I come across other than Venus to mamoru it seems to take the whole show for the couple to become a couple.
I love harem Anime but if you don't have multiple girls after the main guy it shouldn't take that long for them to get together. Now I'd like to just see one couple that gets into a relationship early in the show and has usual relationship problems kinda like say I love you even though they're problems are anything but normal.

Also I'd like to see more harem Anime that is like shuffle where I honestly had no clue who he was going to pick at the end, not have it obvious to everyone from episode 1 who he really wants and he is just oblivious to it. (rosario¥vampire) Also lose that annoying girl that always messes up the romantic parts in harem Anime and ends up beating up the protagonist but is actually in love with him that's really annoying. I'm mainly thinking the best friend from girls bravo. It seems pointless I get not being able to express yourself but beating the crap out of him for a misunderstanding or for actually being a man is annoying

I hate it when a series is classified as ecchi and then there's hardly an ecchi. LAME!
