I like it all. For American I usually prefer groups like NIN, and A Perfect Circle, but I also have a huge love for Japanese groups like The Pillows and Bump of Chicken. I've also completely fallen for the Korean group U-KISS and their silliness, their music just makes me happy. |

I feel as if both American (applying to both North and Latin variants) and East Asian pop is just manufactured junk with talent-less pretty faces compared to a lot of British and European counterparts. not to say there are amazing musicians though not as well-known pop-wise that exist on both sides of the Pacific.

I think they are very different from each other and shouldn't be compared. It's like comparing pop with rock.
They are different, but both good, and some days or some people prefer one over the other.

~Truth be told, most Japanese "bands" today suck. A lot of Japanese bands like LM.C, Gazette wear fancy clothes and most of them look like drag queens. It's bad, really. Though I admit to liking one or two of their songs because they're a bit catchy, they aren't that good, really. There are few bands in Japan who are less famous than most J-rock/pop bands but are really talented, like Toe, they sound great too. Current American bands aren't any better though. When I turned on my tv to watch MTV a while back, a lot of the music there sucked. It was horrendous. Thank God MTV died. My opinion is, most music people listen today blows, but there are some bands that make good music, whether American or Asian. They just have a hard time gaining popularity because in the music industry, most people would rather see performers who "look good" or try to look cool than bands who ARE good. That's the reality.
