I heard that a vegetarian lifestyle is not healthy, since out bodies need meat, and all those things that
vegans don't want to eat. And also, where did the idea come out of? And why?

i'm guessing animal cruelty concerns and arguments that our bodies are meant to be vegetarian (flat teeth, longer intestines, ect).

yeah somehow it sounds that it was created because people didn't like seeing animals slaughtered.
But I didn't know, wow really if you're like a lifetime veggie, do you really get flat teeth and longer intestines?
That's interesting!

lol, well i'm not a vegetarian and i like meat, but it is a fact that our teeth are flat compared to carnivorous animals and that humans are born with longer intestines.

meat is harder to digest, so in the animal kingdom, the animals that eat meat have shorter intestines to help them digest it better. plant-eaters have longer intestines.

those facts won't make me stop eating meat though i like it too much lol
but yeah, that's why we're supposed to eat lots of grains, veggies and fruits compared to meat, i guess :0

well that's interesting, but I have heard, or read somewhere that vegans have a smaller life-span
than those that eat meat, or have a balanced meal. Its funny to see people only eating plants and all that
vegan stuff, it just seems weird for a person that likes to eat meat

No, but there are a lot of restrictions, and a lot of precautions have to be taken, so that you stay healthy. I'm a vegetarian now, and even though I usually drink soy milk, I couldn't cope with being vegan.

yeah, that could be.
i know there's pros and cons about both diets... vegetarians don't get as much fat and have more antioxidants (which decrease chronic diseases), but may suffer if they don't monitor themselves and make sure they get enough vitamins and protein.

i think the best way is to just follow a balanced diet containing lean meats, but that's just my opinion.
i mean, if meat was unhealthy, they'd remove it from the food pyramid, right? ^.^

yeah definitely fatty meats are bad, but I find it hard to eat a lot of vegetables, like broccoli,
and the others.
