I agree with you [Narutoan]. Ever since from the beginning of Naruto series up to Naruto Shippuden, I haven't seen any progress between Naruto and Hinata. Okay Hinata loves Naruto but has anyone saw the development between Naruto and Hinata? Hinata is one of his dear friends he likes her but more than that was.. oh well. But for Naruto and Sakura there's a development. Here are some points:
I remember from the Naruto Original series when Naruto and Sakura are with Jiraiya looking for Orochimaru's hideout at sound village to save Sasuke, they met a girl there named Sasame from Fuuma Clan. Naruto admire Sasame because she is pretty. Naruto start to call her Sasame-chan which Sakura gots upset with Naruto. Because Naruto only calls a girl with "Chan" is Sakura-Chan. Naruto asked Sakura why is she angry about and she didn't answer. I think there's a jealousy here.
For Naruto Shippuden there's a lot of development for Naruto and Sakura in here. Sakura start to admire Naruto after not seeing each other for almost 3 yrs. She got blushed and make some flirt on him like asking if she looks womanly now. She got upset when Naruto didn't compliment her.
There's also a scene where Naruto turns into Kyuubi and his body got badly damaged. Sakura runs to him and immediately heal him. She felt bad and start to cry because she can only do things for Naruto are small and insignificant things. But Yamato saw her actions and saying is not how big or small she can do, what matters is her feelings for Naruto and he can tell by just looking at her.
Next one was Naruto is having a training with Kakashi and Yamato. Sakura made a basket of homemade soldier pills. She thinks that these are the only things she can help Naruto. She left a note for Naruto and leave it there. Kakashi saw the basket of soldier pills made by sakura and he stare it for a while, He gave to Naruto saying It's a gift from Sakura and Naruto read the note. Sakura make a soldier pills for 4 consecutive days leaving her note in the basket. Naruto kept her 4 notes in his hands while he is lying on the ground to sleep. Sakura stares the photo of Team 7 and began to recall what Yamato told her about her feelings for Naruto. She stared the ingredients of soldier pills for Naruto that she bought then she looked the photo of Sasuke and she start to cry. I guess she is confused here about her feelings for Sasuke and her feelings for Naruto.
Another scene from Sora turns into Kyuubi and Naruto is keeping him to stop. Most of his friends were there like Chouji, Shikamaru, Ino, Kiba, Neji, Lee, Ten Ten, Sakura and Yamato. From all of them only Sakura came down to Naruto to heal him and she doesn't care what is gonna happen. I mean the situation is dangerous but she only thinks of Naruto being badly wounded.
A scene from battle of pain and Naruto in Kyuubi form. When Sakura came down to heal Hinata and found out that Hinata loves Naruto. Sakura's expression on her face is different and it has something meaning on it.
These are just some development I've seen so far. But I'm pretty sure it would be Naruto and Sakura.
