gosh, if u dnt want kim and gerald. then dont watch. end of the story. ur makin it a big deal. if u dnt want to see them acting or over acting as most of u wud say then dont watch! and so if there's remake of My Girl? its not their fault naman eh, the ABS-CBN staff choose kim & gerald. coz they bliv that they can handle it and improve their acting. siyempre theyr just new actors. wat do u expect? mga Filipinos tlga napakajudgemental. if i know manonoood din kau.. Mga inggitera kase kayu. wala lng kayu mgwa. kung ayaw niyu sa kanila. sabi k0 na nga wag nlng kaung manuod.. why bother commenting? if i kn0w.. mga insecure lng kau eh.. and to all of you.. be conscious on what ur saying. coz all you do is just mocking Filipino actors. That is so mean. We respect your country by watching and NOT SAYING ANYTHING MEAN to your shows. I love My GIrl Korean version! but gosh, we havent seen the whole My Girl Pinoy Version. So just shut up, and mind your own business. If you dont want the Pinoy Version, then go make your own version! haha! very shameful to all Filipinos! your like degrading our country by just mocking Filipino actors. mahiya naman kau... Dapat we shud be proud pa nga eh, and ipagtanggol cla. it is very shameful that ur doing the opposite. Godbless nlng sa inyung lahat..

Well, why don't you see the show, without comparing it? maybe, you'd appreciate it more. Besides, people act differently, and sometimes the target culture of a society produces different kinds of acting. It really depends if they aim to copy it as it is or put a Filipino twist on it. Knowing ABS-CBN, they're gonna domesticate or localize "My Girl".

Still, we do have our own biases. Hope that doesn't hinder you from watching.

I totally agree. they should see the show, as it is, without comparing it. sheesh. the target audiences are different, so it would produce different acting styles and effects. I have seen a few episodes of My Girl, the Korean one and they did some minor changes based on the first two episodes. I found Kim Chiu's acting cute and funny. With regards to Gerald Anderson, he's still okay. He's supposed to speak in a mix of english and tagalog (pangmayaman stereotype).

Anyways, hope everything goes well with My Girl, and not reach to a point of corny-love.

yeah i agree with you on that...
even if my girl was revise in filipino version..
i think they can't act as the original my girl

dUH! That's why it's called a revised version as you say. Every revision is not like the original. But, if you see My Girl Philippines as an original, maybe you'd appreciate it more. Give it a chance. Man. All you do is bash people here.

I agree with you.. Well most actors here in the Philippines are just good looking and has nothing else to offer.. I seldom see an actor who can really act (in the Philippines)...

I am not really against remakes but the least that they (ABS-CBN) can do is to cast suitable ACTORS.

yur absolutely right..! =)
agreed.. =)

Maybe because you guys compare it too much to the original. Why not think of the Philippine version as if it was an original? Maybe that'll change your perspective. And besides, what the Philippine version of My Girl is trying capture a much broader public with the age they have. Thus, casting Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson would be ok.

If you want a suitable cast, then who would you suggest that would be as equal as the original? I doubt that you'll find one. It's because each culture is different. The act differently and have to deal with a different public. God. You guys are so close-minded.

????? u dumb
there will always be a comparison between remakes and the originals.....
character,setting and story ....emf

what is ur problem...

I don't have any, but think before you speak ok? its much better that way. Never think for your self. think for others too. ever heard of criticism?

Although comparison is inevitable, it's still different. People are naturally different. There are no two people in this world that are exactly the same in each aspect. Although you say comparison is criticism, one can take the perspective that the other version is like an original. So, it's like the two versions are originals. Got it?

i seriously don't like the Philippine version of my girl. judging from the trailer, it won't be that good. plus, kim's acing is so, er, trying hard and OA.. i don't think that she'll make it better than the origial version. what a shame.. the other characters doesn't fit the other roles too. take that enchong as an example. he isn't that good looking. and gerald anderson's make-over looks so, er, weird. doesn't fit him too well. the Korean version is waaayy better! it's so embarrassing to Korea!! and oh btw, i agree that maja salvador fits jasmine's role way better. kim's acting sucks. seriously. i hate it.

Personal opinion. I think they cast Kim Chiu becuase they were looking for someone who could speak different languages (Cebuano, Chinese, Tagalog) like the one in My Girl Korea (Chinese, japanese, and Korean). And besides, if they cast maja salvador, she won't be able to fit the Imported cousin Julian is looking for.

Embarrassing to Korea? I don't think so. They're different shows in a sense. What I might find embarrassing is if the dubbing of My Girl to Filipino was a wreck. But, look at it this way. They're too completely different shows, with similar plots.

All you do comment about are the looks and you judge them only by their looks. now, that's a shame.

All you do is criticize their looks. Sigh. Besides, you can't find an exact duplicate of the people in My Girl Korea who also have acting skills.

Maja won't fit the role. The character is someone who traces her roots in Japan or China. For Toni, she has a personality too strong for Jasmine. Although she does act really well, I don't see her as the bubbly con-artist.

Philippine's ABS-CBN has secured the franchise for the 2006 hit Korean series "My Girl" from South Korea's SBS, which will be aired sometime this year. This type of collaboration between two giant television networks is a first between the two Asian countries.

The role of Yoo Rin, also known as Jasmine by Filipino fans which was originally played by Lee Da Hae, will be played by Kim Chiu while the rest of the cast is yet to be announced. Kim Chiu hoped that Gong Chan a.k.a. Julian, which was originally played by Lee Dong Wook, will be played by his love team, Gerald Anderson.

casts of Philippine version of MY GIRL

MY GIRL (korea)

OMGG!!! the filipino cast looks so young -_-"...i doubt they're gonna act as good as the original cast.
i hope they wont make this into like a high school musical

~ i dont like the casts of Philippine version of My Girl....and yeah you are right they look so young....and Kim Chui is not a good comedian, i think the role is not good for her...Kim Chui 's acting is not as good as Lee Da Hae...and also Enchong Dee is not as handsome as Kim jung Ki...also Gerald Anderson...

They're simply going for a bigger audience by getting younger people. You compare too much with the Korean version. It's just looks. My God. Watch before you speak, man.

And I love this kdrama and I dont want Kim Chui to play the role of Lee Da Hae...one more thing Im not just looking
on the apperance or looks of the Philippine cast, aside from that Kim Chui's acting skill is not so good....Im not going to waste
my time just watching that drama......
