Who wants to be a CR Moderator?
Posted 5/5/08 , edited 5/12/08
1) Which position(s) do you want?
*I would like to go for forum and/or media mod. I can help out the site in both ways.

2) What makes you suitable for this position? Put your experiences and skills here (if any)

Forum Mod

*I'm organized and on top everything.
*I know how to use the forum search engine (You won't believe the number of users that don't know how to use it)
*I'm open minded and accept all people
*I know the rules of the CR forum well
*I follow the CR forum rules
*I am patient so I can handle the constant changes CR has every week
*I love the forums
*I'm pretty responsible, if I am chosen I would not abuse my powers and try to respond to user's questions.
*I can help new and old users. I wouldn't get irritated at them or anything if they asked me a stupid question.
*I'm active in the forums mainly to look for interesting threads, report spam if I come across any, and report duplicate threads.
*I have manged my friend's blog for awhile when he was away but I don't think that counts as skills.
*I'm able to learn quickly so I can help out as fast as I can.
*I can help the current mods help for the mass wave of new users CR is going to get in the summer
*I make good judgements (spam post, spam thread, banning a user, etc)
*I can make good decisions that would both benifit the user and I
(Telling a flamer to calm down so he doesn't get nuked)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Media Mod

*As for media mod skills, I'm knowledgeable in most genres of videos we have on CR. The only section that I don't visit much is the game and car section.
*Again I am organized, patient, quick learning so I can handle the duties of a media mod. (approving, checking for duplicates, checking if it's licensed, etc)
*I've uploaded videos to CR so I know how that works, so I can help people who have questions and what not.
*I watch alot of videos so I am up-to-date in most recent anime, drama, and music. (I can give summaries of shows and such to users)
*I know the uploading policies so I can explain them to users and help them understand.
*I have multiple sources to check for licensing and summaries

3) What type of cr videos are you most familiar with (anime, drama, etc)?

*I am most familar with anime because thats the reason I came on to this site. But now I am equally familiar with dramas and music videos. I started watching Bleach here on Cr and now that I have grown out of it I watch a wide variety of old and new anime and I enjoy watching J and K dramas. The music that I listen to anre mostly Jrock and pop groups but on occasion I will listen to some K pop.

4) ForumMod only: what is your moderation style? How will you handle hostile cr users, etc?
*My moderating style is pretty much like a relaxed, laid-back kind of style. I give most threads and users a chance, will listen to their problems and answer questions. But if needed I will be harsh and merciless. I know where to draw the line and just stop.
*I wouldn't get too hot headed about every little mistake a user makes, I would warn them and tell them to not do it again. If I know they are doing crap on purpose I would instantly ban or nuke the user. If the user is new to CR I would love to kindly help them out. And I am human so if I make a mistake I would apologize to the user and move on.
How I will handle hostile users such as flamers and spammers are like this.
*1st time-I would warn them and pm what they did wrong
*2nd time-ban them for a while so they can cool down
*3rd time- ban for a year or nuke their account.
If they flame back at me or spam at me I would calmly asses the situation and handle it in a mature way.
Managing threads
*For threads I would first look at the title of the thread and see if it is breaking any rules such as naruto, bleach, vs thread. Then I would read the thread starter's post. Is it sensible?, will it create discussion?, etc... if it looks good then I'll check back on it in a couple hours and if there are off-topic posts and spam I would lock the thread. Unless, the thread starter put alot of effort into making the thread then, I would just delete the posts. In the end I think it's more of a case-by-case thing with me.

5) How much time do you spend on CR? How much time will you be able to dedicate to CR?

I spend my free time here on CR about 7-8 hours a day depending on my schedule. But if I have to mod I would gladly give more time. And summer is coming so school would not be my first priority.

6) What is your timezone (in GMT)?

*Pacific Standard Time GMT-8

Thank you for this great opportunity

1) I am interested in being a forum mod

2) I have some experience in other forums like URL deleted though I am not a mod there, I am used to the rules because of my activeness for about a year so far...I also mod the captain hitsugaya club group and I created the rules there...
I am a kind person if I may say so myself but I can be strict when needed. I have been a cr member for a while now..I think since may 07, because this is my newly made account...

3) I am most familiar with anime and music videos( though music not as much )

4) I mod by enforcing the rules while being friendly at the same time...i would handle a one time law breaker by giving him/her a warning...if he/her fails again to follow the rules, i would more strictly enforce them, as sometimes strictness is necessary.....a continouous law breaker would get a temporary ban( if there is one ) or I would contact you(shinji) for what method that should be used...I will treat all posters fairly and see both sides of the story.

5) sadly..I do not have enough time to spend on crunchyroll as other members, as I have schoolwork, but on weekends I can spend the least of 5 hours on cr and for the weekdays, I can spend the maximum of 2-3 hours..sadly..on my itouch but I will try to spend as much time on cr as possible..and since summer is coming, I will have more time to focus on crunchyroll

6) my time zone is -8:00 I think ( I live in California , U.S )

thanks and i hope u would consider me...

1) Which position(s) do you want?

I am applying for one of the 3 ForumMod positions.
2) What makes you suitable for this position? Put your experiences and skills here (if any)
1.) I spend a great time moding on groups keeping track of members.
2.) I tend to keep records on behaviors to set up warning watch lists.
3.) Though I do not post too many forums I do read a large amount of them. Not just the first page
But I read through all the pages to see what people r saying.

3) What type of cr videos are you most familiar with (anime, drama, etc)?
I favor anime and music videos but watch others.

4) ForumMod only: what is your moderation style? How will you handle hostile cr users, etc?

I do not discriminate between users whether they are my friends or not they are to be treated equally. If they r being hostel I wild give them a warning. Any action thereafter is on them. I will consult with the others to see their opinion and consider the topic. I will not ban someone just 4 the hell of it. I would only ban them if they have proven on multiple occasions that they are deserving of such actions.

5) How much time do you spend on CR? How much time will you be able to dedicate to CR?
On average I spend about 8 to 9 hours on cr a day. some more so than others.

1) Which position(s) do you want?

I am interested in being media moderator or a forum moderator.

2) What makes you suitable for this position? Put your experiences and skills here (if any)

- very organized
- have lots of patience
- had the position of President of different clubs/organizations in high school
- captain of tennis team for next season

3) What type of cr videos are you most familiar with (anime, drama, etc)?

I'm most familiar with Korean and Japanese dramas and music.

4) ForumMod only: what is your moderation style? How will you handle hostile cr users, etc?

I try to talk to people about a problem first before undergoing any further action. If the abuser doesn't comply, then I have to do the worst. I'd like to keep everyone happy and everything running smoothly.

5) How much time do you spend on CR? How much time will you be able to dedicate to CR?

I spend anywhere from 2-5 hours on CR everyday (with longer hours on the weekends). I'm a mod for a couple of groups, so I'm constantly checking up on the forums within the groups, making sure people are following the rules, answering any questions, uploading/finding links of media. I am continuing Japanese next year, and my professor tells us to watch dramas without subtitles, (hopefully) and try to understand the basic meaning of the action.

As said above, I can dedicate 2-5 hours, maybe more, to CR. It just depends on my schedule for the day. But I always come back here, since it's a fun place to hang out and help people.

6) What is your timezone (in GMT)?

Eastern Standard Time, or GMT -5. New York!! :)

Thanks so much!!

1) Which position(s) do you want?
Forum Mod.
2) What makes you suitable for this position? Put your experiences and skills here (if any)
I used to moderate forums for old school gaming communities(remember Soldier of Fortune?). I also created and was admin of a few (decidedly smaller) forums on topics ranging from football to CS 1.6,so I pretty much have the experience when it comes to this sort of thing.I also follow different time zones from the regular mods so i would be active when they aren't.
By experiences,if you mean co-curricular activities,I did take part in a few back in school especially in quiz, editing(School magazine and Yearbook) and art.
3) What type of cr videos are you most familiar with (anime, drama, etc)?
Animes, though I am starting to get interested in movies too.
4) ForumMod only: what is your moderation style? How will you handle hostile cr users, etc?
My moderation style is to make the user understand that he has broken a rule without being overly forceful or pressurizing, so they won't harbor any ill feelings later.
5) How much time do you spend on CR? How much time will you be able to dedicate to CR?
Since school graduation last month,I'm on the forums for hours at an end (minimized,of course, though I do check in every few minutes). Once I move to India to begin College this summer though,I'll be on around 2-3 hours a day.

1) Which position(s) do you want?
Forum Moderator

2) What makes you suitable for this position? Put your experiences and skills here (if any)
I have operated a few anime subboards on some friends Proboards sites. I also am currently operating a non-anime proboards site, so I have forum moderation experience.

3) What type of cr videos are you most familiar with (anime, drama, etc)?
Anime.

4) ForumMod only: what is your moderation style? How will you handle hostile cr users, etc?
My style is based on the severity of the crime. If it's a minor infraction (spamming, double posting, etc...), I may give them a warning. Repeated minor infractions, or a major infraction (scamming, severe harassment, etc...) may result in a short term ban at first, and then a long term ban.
I will handle hostile CR users by informing them of what rules they are violating, and giving them helpful suggestions on what to do to either blow off steam, or what they can do that won't irritate other CR community members.

5) How much time do you spend on CR? How much time will you be able to dedicate to CR?
I spend an hour to three hours a day on Crunchyroll.

6) Your timezone

1) Which position(s) do you want?
Forum Mod.

2) What makes you suitable for this position? Put your experiences and skills here (if any)

I've dealt with 2 forum mod positions before ~ One on a game [ Runescape, if you heard of it ], and on an invisionfree website.

3) What type of cr videos are you most familiar with (anime, drama, etc)?

Variety in chinese dramas/movies. Some anime ~ Most of which are not on CR. My favorites would be Devil Beside You, Game about love, Yu yu hakusho, Bleach. Also, I enjoy gameshows, 25/26 - { I belive that's the name } and super trio.

4) ForumMod only: what is your moderation style? How will you handle hostile cr users, etc?

Depending on how serious it is, I would normally give a warning, second warning, then a temp ban if nessecary.

5) How much time do you spend on CR? How much time will you be able to dedicate to CR?

Edit : Time Zone : Pacific Standard Time (PST) GMT -8

I spend a healthy amount on CR, yet, only to watch shows.
To be honest - I have never used CR forums until I saw this, although, I can quickly adapt to the forums and all of it's rules. If I were to become a ForumMod - I would spend an infinite amount, in other words, I would be checking on it from here to there and make rounds from the topics and posts to see if there's anything going on.

Final words ~ I would just like to say that I would love this ForumMod Position, because I just simply love helping people out. Even though this is going to be my first post in CR forums, I hope this one counts. Furthermore ~ I think I would make a great ForumMod, yet, I guess most people think they can do a great job, so I'm not putting anyone down, we're are equal in potential.

Thanks!

~ Victor.

MediaMod

2) What makes you suitable for this position? Put your experiences and skills here (if any)
I am very organized, almost to a obsessive-compulsive level when it comes to these kinds of things (images, videos, music, documents, etc). I have also been the organizational/secretarial organizer of URL deleted (under the name Shadow) for the past year-and-a-half.

3) What type of CR videos are you most familiar with (anime, drama, etc)?
Anime primarily, some Music, and I've only dabbled slightly in Game and Drama.

5) How much time do you spend on CR? How much time will you be able to dedicate to CR?
I currently spend from 1-5 hours daily, which increases depending on if I'm frantically watching an anime series or participating in a forum debate or something of the sort. It would absolutely increase if I actually had a real obligation to be here.

Hmm...it's worth a shot!

1) Which position(s) do you want?

I'm applying for one of the three open Forum Mod positions

2) What makes you suitable for this position? Put your experiences and skills here (if any)

I am a kind and understand person, and can enforce rules regardless of my position if I need to.

I have experienced, somewhat, the stresses of the moderator lifestyle, as I used to be a Moderator Assistant on Gaia Online (stepped down since I rarely visit Gaia nowadays). I am also a moderator in three groups here on CR.

3) What type of cr videos are you most familiar with (anime, drama, etc)?

I've seen mostly anime videos here on CR. I saw a couple music videos, too...but I don't remember whether I saw them here or on YouTube. @w@;;

4) ForumMod only: what is your moderation style? How will you handle hostile cr users, etc?

Based on experience, I would first try to settle the problem calmly and try to see both sides of the issue. Should the hostility continue, I would seek advice from another mod (preferably one who was a mod longer than I was) and hope their advice would help.

Basically, I would try to resolve the issue as maturely as possible. As a mod, I would try to represent, not only myself, but the site in a good way.

5) How much time do you spend on CR? How much time will you be able to dedicate to CR?

On average, I spend 5-6 hours a day on CR, most of that time, not logged in and lurking.

6) What is your timezone (in GMT)?

GMT -08:00: US Pacific Time (California)

Thanks for taking your time on reading this post.

1) Which position(s) do you want?
I would like to apply to be a Media Moderator.

2) What makes you suitable for this position? Put your experiences and skills here (if any)
I would be suitable for this position because I can dedicate time to screen the video uploaded and change then in anyway needed. I am a pretty organized person and would like to contribute my organizational skills here on CR, making it a more easier and a user friendly site than it already is.

3) What type of cr videos are you most familiar with (anime, drama, etc)?
I would say drama, however I can expand it if needed.

4) ForumMod only: what is your moderation style? How will you handle hostile cr users, etc?

5) How much time do you spend on CR? How much time will you be able to dedicate to CR?
I am on CR almost everyday and I can dedicate most of my spare time on CR if needed. I have watched a ton of movies here and I believe I would be helpful in organizing. Every time I am free, I would always go on CR whenever I am online.

6) What is your timezone (in GMT)?
My timezone is -5 GMT (EST)

Thank you!
