Amuro Namie to Perform for Avex Shareholders
J-pop princess Amuro Namie (30) is to perform at the upcoming concert for shareholders of major record label Avex. The June 22 show at the Saitama Super Arena is described as the biggest ever by the company, which this year celebrates its 20th anniversary. In fact, with Sony's event being attended by about 7,300 people, the 20,000-seat arena show is probably the biggest by any music company. Held each year after the annual shareholder's meeting, the event was held at the Tokyo International Forum for the last seven years. It usually features the label's top stars, such as Hamasaki Ayumi (29), Koda Kumi (25), and Otsuka Ai (25). But Koda has had a bit of a difficult year and Hamasaki has the Osaka show of her national tour on the same night. So Amuro has stepped in to headline the show. It's her first appearance in eight years and she is long past the heyday of her popularity when she was the first singer to be dubbed a "pop princess" in her teens. But she had some success with a recent single, has a greatest hits album coming out on July 30, and a 15-arena tour starting on October 25.  Source: Japan Zone http://www.japan-zone.com/news/2008/06/11/amuro_namie_to_perform_for_avex_shareholders.shtml  安室奈美恵が日本最大の株主総会ライブに登場 歌手の安室奈美恵（３０）が、２２日にさいたまスーパーアリーナで行われる大手レコード会社・エイベックスの株主限定コンサートに出演することが１０日、分かった。安室の出演は００年以来８年ぶり。エイベックス２０周年の記念すべき年に“元祖歌姫”の久々の登場は注目を集めそうだ。 エイベックス上場の礎を築いた元祖歌姫・安室が、同社の２０周年を祝う華となる。 例年、株主総会後に開催されるコンサートには、浜崎あゆみ（２９）、倖田來未（２５）、大塚愛（２５）ら毎年、所属アーティストが多数出演することで話題に。 だが、今年は浜崎が当日、大阪での全国ツアー公演のため欠席。それだけに、幅広い層から絶大な人気を誇る安室の出演は、今年の大きな目玉になる。 同社は１９９８年に株式を公開し、翌９９年から株主総会後に所属アーティストらによる株主限定ライブを開催。最初は同社が経営するディスコ・ヴェルファーレで、００年はＺｅｐｐ Ｔｏｋｙｏで行ったが、個人株主の増加に伴い、０１年から昨年まで７年連続で東京・有楽町の東京国際フォーラムで株主総会を行っていた。 今年は８８年４月の創業から２０周年という節目の年。「株主様への謝恩」の思いを込めて、より広い会場となるスーパーアリーナ（約２万人収容予定）へと変更した。 これまで株主本人しか出席できなかったコンサートも、今年に限っては同伴者を１人ずつ認める方針に。総会の参加人数の記録は、一昨年のソニーの７２４７人。そのため、エイベックスがソニー超えとなる日本最大の株主総会になるのは確実だ。 安室といえば、７月３０日に６年ぶりのベストアルバム（タイトル未定）の発売が発表されたばかり。１０月２５日の千葉・幕張メッセイベントホールから約２５万人動員を予定する全国アリーナツアー（１５か所２５公演）を展開していく。３月の「スペースシャワー・ＭＶアワーズ」で女性ソロアーティスト部門で最優秀作品賞。先月の「ＭＴＶビデオ・ミュージック・アワード・ジャパン２００８」で最優秀Ｒ＆Ｂビデオ賞を受賞するなど、パフォーマンスの高さは各方面から高い評価を受けている。安室の参戦で、総会の参加人数だけでなく、盛り上がりも史上最大になりそうだ。 Source: スポーツ報知 http://hochi.yomiuri.co.jp/entertainment/news/20080611-OHT1T00023.htm |
