Hell yeah, it's the figurines.
Go to some mall in manila or something, and you'll see those figurines that's damn expensive.
If I'm referring to the game, then I meant that It's kinda hard to find the DnD game here. You know? Modernization of games. They probably forgot about DnD.
But not in the US.

He is right, in America where we are the king of the world figurines dont cost much but people do spend 200 dollars and over for their Characters and Monster fig.

Heck yeah.
It'll cost for about 10,000 pesos here in the Philippines for a figurine. Damn right for addiction. Even I'll give in my cash for a game like that. (Just watched some videos online)
Better not get addicted to DnD.

I write Tabletop RPGs for (an infinitely small part of) a lioving, so I know what you're talking about. I get a lot of satisfaction out of gamemastering, especially when I get a good group at a con and lightning in a bottle strikes.

Oddly enough I haven't played that much of D&D itself, and don't own a copy of the current edition (but my friends do). I play a wide variety of other systems, though the actual means of play don't change all that much when you go from system to system. Still, different systems emphasize different things.

In the anime style of gaming, I was rather fond of BESM (Big Eyes, Small Mouth) when it was still in print (sadly, the company was driven out of business by unfavorable rate of exchange and some poor license decision making). I also play the Hero System (best known for its use in the superhero game Champions), GURPS (which handles everything except supers fairly well) and the comedy game Teenagers from Outer Space, also known as TFOS, which gets close to Urusei Yatsura-level wackiness. (One TFOS campaign I was in lasted a good year and a half, which is incredibly long for what is most frequently a pickup game for weekends off from the main campaign).

The key to a good RPG experience? It's who you play with. A good group with intelligent, creative players will take any system to its capabilities and even beyond.
