Mac is way better, but i am biased, b/c i use my Mac for Adobe Photoshop. It has better graphics and color. Mac's are better looking than PCs also. I love my MacBook Pro

It depends on what you want to do wit it. As said before... Mac is better for graphics and visual design. The PC - Mac feud is noticable in my family. Ive always used a PC but my sister who is a photographer and graphic designer uses Macs. I think Macs are sexier but Im use to a PC now so I dont think id switch over.

Get a Mac if you're rich enough to buy a new one every time a new OS version is released.

I've never had any problems with all of the macs that I've ever had (such as the hardware). The only barrier that I've encountered is that early on (like a about 5-10 years ago) the software differences were a pain. I couldn't enjoy red alert or starcraft but still...

Both have their pros and cons.

Mac is good for video editing and graphic programs, but spare bits, software packages and OS updates are stupidly expensive and it doesn't cope with multi-tasking well, which irritates me most.

PC with a good spec is great for gaming, multitasking, programming and complex programs. Spare bits and software packages are cheerfully cheap, yet it's prone to collect unnecessary files including dlls, etc.

Both are prone to crashing, so all that stuff about Mac being immune is BS (iMac, G3 Powerbook and MacBook Pro). In this house PCs and Macs are not prone to viruses because *cough* we use our common sense. (Macs weren't prone to viruses in the past because of its small user base. It's a different story now.) I prefer PC because it's way less "child friendly" (read: flexible programming) than Mac.

I don't think PC and Mac are better than each other as both happen to offer different functions that fulfil different user needs.
