Why do people hate unrealistic animes?
Posted 5/6/08 , edited 5/6/08
Why? Animes don't equal to real life. Sure I don't mind you prefer realistic animes to unrealistic ones, but why you guys like to grade the quality of an anime based on whether it's realistic or not? Mangakas usually express their wild imagination through the mangas they draw and the extra special effects and colours are only added by anime studios.

sport animes are an example. Prince of Tennis, Ring Ni Kakero and other over the top series.

I like all sorts of different types of anime. I actually can't really think of too many anime that are realistic at all except school anime.

That's not true.

It really only depends on the person's personality/likings.

if they don't like a make-believe story, then they don't like it....

It doesn't concern mangakas showing their wild imagination, it concerns the person's liking to a certain anime genre, that's why we have different kind of genre, to satisfy almost everyone.

Simply because it's unreal

Anime is fiction and should not be taken as fact. -.-

Well I don't mind them... But they do tend to get a bit boring and repetitive at times.

I think the main reason why they don't like them is for the fact that instead of a tennis ball they start shooting gaint balls of light and crazy flash effects (prince of tennis)... it becomes dragon ball z tennis??? I would prefer the ball to just stay a tennis ball... But hey... thats how they made it ...So deal with it?

i dont really care, but you have to ask yourself; how many times can you watch a pink haired, red eyed, 5-year-old girl beat the crap out of someone 10 times their size? since unrealistic is the style, you see more of them. maby people think realistic is harder and more creative?dunno...

well I don't take Prince of Tennis seriously that's why I enjoy every show that I watch. If I want real tennis, man, I go turn on the tv and go watch real tennis while listening to sharapova's warcry.

I like any kind of anime as long as the story is good, but i prefer unrealistic ones better. I love supernatural, Yaoi, any kind that is not normal... this are things after all that we can see only in anime and in our imagination.

.... Dude... I couldn't even bring myself to that kind of torture, fuck it, I'll just watch the news and see who wins.
I like Prince of Tennis though, sport animes are fun and most of the main characters are bearable to watch since they have drive and ambition.
