What makes a good shounen according to you?

4 questions actually...

Well it's no doubt that some shounens became really popular after release.

1. What makes a good shounen according to you?

2. What do you think are the elements required for a shounen to be successful?

3. For these past 20-30 years or so, a lot of shounens have used the same traditional formula that appealed to the masses. Since the anime audience/manga readers have changed over that period of time, are you for change too, yes or no? If yes, what are the different things would you like to see in upcoming shounens?

4. Do you think shounens are good for children under the age of 12 or no?

1. Solid storyline, good original theme

2. Some twist plot, a good variety of attack skills,

3.I can't really answer that one. I'd say no

4.That just depends who is watching... In America, there's a lot of censorship, many incidents happened since the airing of Naruto in America. I can't say much...

1. It should have some plot twist and it's really addicting :D

2. I needs to have an intelligent plot and lovable characters

3. I want to see a little bit more character development

4.Depends. If there not killing themselves trying to imitate someone from an anime then it's fine by me

1. Something with a good plot, no plotholes, no exaggerated action (except for the characters who follow the series ...but like no one running through solid walls and still living, etc etc) Basically, no overrated and overused things.

2. Originality mixed in with good action. But of course, the masses like something they can relate to or something they see over and over again (which is the creation of genres) ...but something with a different plot with a theme that isn't really that tied into the story but still there that is used in other series. (...I can't really find a different way to say that...)

3. I think everyone is up for change, though there are people who would like to stick to certain thematic thoughts. And then there's also the fact of the ever so constant action.....and the fanservice...But more variety in plots and settings. Like ninjas, shinigami, mafia, and pirates....there's a lot of series that deal with criminals becoming heroes....etc etc.

4. It's all a matter of censorship. But senseless slaughter and action is not good for the growing mind~ Unless.....it's already tainted. Then it doesn't matter~ xDD

I Iiked Gonzo...quite fresh i felt!. but i feel that a needed mix would be an exciting plot filled with bits of shoujo to give some emotion to it. Kids can watch if it isn't too violent!

1. The same as any good anime. Good writing, good pace, good characters, and a good ending.

2. Absolutely avoid getting the fans bored. Once that happens it's almost impossible to get them back.

3. More original character designs for the main leads. Seriously, we can't differentiate between anyone anymore. Enough with the spiky brown/black hair and highschool uniforms already PLEASE! ;_;

4. Depends...on one hand the likes of Captain Tsubasa, Major, and Prince of Tennis are pefectly fine (noticed the trend?). On the other hand...*Looks at Fist of the North Star and Berserk.* Well...you get the idea.
