like seriously! i have ALOT of friends that r like obsess with korean dramas while i find them pretty boring..
i mean i'ts not like i've never given it a chance! in fact i given it PLENTY!
i've seen my girl which i was able to finish till the end ONLY cause i found lee jun ki to b quite a hottie
i tried goong, the drama that everyone's crazy over and i found i VERY boring
i watched full house, realy at 1st it was very good but towards the end it dragged ALOT
i started watching coffee prince but couldn't take it anymore after the 1st 1/2
then i watched a love to kill and the start of the drama just made me shut off my pc
and i really find the krean dramas very original and has no creativitiy!
it's always about poor/werid/optimis girl meet rich/mean/cold hearted guy
and another pair of guy & girl trying to break them up! it's like wat the hell!
\can't they have love tringles? or just 2 people in love?
and why does it always have to have the main 2 character start of hating each other then in the end likeing each other? tha'ts just getting old!

i'm not sure if all korean dramas r like this but that's wat i got fromt eh one's i've seen
so i was wondering is u can suggest GOOD kdrama for me that i might actually like
i heard they are making a korean version HYD. god i hope they don't mess it up!

wow why dont you try korean movies.
i find it more interesting than dramas.
their dramas are too long or it gets boring then good or good then boring.

but you should try watching
a love to kill.

movies.
a millionaires first love. my FAVORITE.

i like korean dramas well becuase i understand it.
i hate not udnerstanding and jss reading the supbtitles unles its anime.

it doesnt matter which ethnicity made it.
just if the drama is good or not.

I personally like Korean dramas because of the comedy, the launguage, the good looking actress/actors, the quality, the scenery, etc. But I only like the K-dramas that has all the above and doesn't have such a clicheish plot. Beacuse than that drama just becomes complete $h1t . . .

I think it's the actors/actresses
that attracts people. Haha.

Like what she said, she only
finished "My Girl" because of
Lee Jun Ki. And that other
person who said they finished
Autumn Tale cause of Won Bin.

So I think it's the actors/actresses
that keeps people wanting to watch
Korean dramas.

so i'm quoting you now to make sure you do read this. haha. anyway... why i like korean dramas?? it's hard to say exactly. i started off watched a love to kill as my first kdrama. and i DEFINITELY have to agree with you that the first two episodes drag and maybe even the third. but i was committed to finishing it and it did pick up. for me at least.

i really enjoy kdramas and kmedia in general. i really feel that they capture things right. but i really find that kdramas are great because they are over in usually one season, like jdramas, but there is more meat to them because there are usually twice as many episodes. take for example, the new jdrama maou starring ohno satoshi and ikuta toma. this drama was based on the kdrama called the devil with joo ji hoon (shin goon in goong) and shin min ah (eun suk in a love to kill) as well as uhm tae woong (hak do in delightful girl choon hyang *basically the second main guy*). anyway... when i watched the first episode of the jdrama they introduced everything right away and made us informed on everything... we had nothing to really be confused about or think over and everything was pretty much resolved in that episode but the main plot (obviously). but when i watched the korean version they slowly started showing us things and left us very confused and only gave things away when you thought about it. and also all the problems followed over onto the next episode. i personally think it adds to the drama to have more space to be able to keep us guessing. jdramas get right to the point while kdramas give you time to settle into the show and really think about things. i like that.

another reason why you're feeling bored by these shows and that they are repetitive is because you are watching the ones with the same basic plots. there are plenty of kdramas that don't fit that perfect plot. albeit they aren't necessarily all about romance... but i've honestly come to love kdramas and kmovies.. i really feel that koreans do media right. though they do have many contradictions i always love watching korean media. it is so interesting to me.

here are some things to try:

kdrama:

the devil (a lawyer with a grudge on a detective who has a past connected with his own and a woman who can see an objects history by touching it. good show if you're into a little mystery)

iljimae (still airing in korea but VERY good... starring lee jun ki, it's a historical show. it does take a while for the show to REALLY pick up... but i really enjoy it)

which yoo hee (it pretty much is a formula triangle drama, but it's the woman who is a rich bitch and the guy is an impoverished cook who ends up working as her housekeeper to pay back a debt to her.... it's REALLY great)

my lovely sam soon (it has the formula of a kdrama, but seriously... it is one of the BEST shows ever. the girl isn't a stupid loser that can't stand up for herself. and it stars hyun bin and daniel henney... what a good formula for a great drama!!!)

crazy for you (only if your into INTENSELY angst-y dramas. i haven't finished it yet... only made it to ep. 10 so far because that's where all things turn for the worse... but yoon kye sang is SO gorgeous. )

coffee prince (give it another try. i'm sure if you make it past the first episode you'll love it... once it picks up it seriously does. and also the first ep. is actually the worst of all of them. trust me)

kmovie:

3-iron (hardly any words spoken but it is such a beautiful movie to watch. highly recommend)

windstruck (it amazed me how good this was. it turned from a cute romantic comedy into a tragic romance that totally rips you apart and puts you back together over and over. such a great film)

sad movie (a compilation of a bunch of different loves. really really great movie)

do re mi fa so la si do (typical love triangle but in a really different way *at least i think so*)

gangster high (the korean translation is actually "tough love". great movie with great kick ass action scenes)

anyway... i hope this helps you understand kdramas and maybe even gets you into korean media for good!! let me know how it goes!!

I don't understand too. I've watched several...but they didn't make me cry like japanese, they didn't make me laugh like taiwanese, there's no good action as in Hong Kong production...So I say, Korean showbussiness is waste of time. Tons of remakes and unoriginal music too...well. Korea is uninteresting for me. (Notice the "I say" - it's just my opinion )
