I'd like to join....
Wow! Is that so?! That's neat... However if it's from wiki, I probably won't believe it... That is so unreliable... Anyway, if the info's from one of the biggest broadcasting company, that could be true...(they're not gonna put their name and reputation on the line...I'm sure..) But then again, the thing is, it doesn't matter, we like him alright, I supposed. When I first saw him in Gokusen, I thought to myself, he's Japanese, however I have a feeling that he's not pure Japanese...(The same feeling that I had when I first saw Shirota Yuu...) I like him alright in Gokusen but I like him even better now.... :)

Okay, let me make this clear: I am originally Filipina with a part-Spanish mother; however, I do not buy this half-Filipino rumor because not one person has backed it with factual, documented evidence (like Hayami's birth certificate. Anything with 'wiki' in it is totally unreliable and everything else is hearsay). The skin color does not explain anything. He's tanned. So what? Have you seen Takuya Kimura's skin color? Does that make him part Filipino?

I do not have any Chinese blood in me, yet some people greet me with Ni hao. Around here, I am mistaken for Vietnamese (the Vietnamese themselves think that I'm one of them). My mother is part-Spanish but she is often mistaken for Chinese (I have seen several times in which she was approached by Chinese women and spoken Chinese to). Even one time, while walking around Philadelphia's Chinatown, an elderly Chinese lady started speaking to me in Chinese. I go to the mall and at one coffee stand, the Chinese barista asks me my ethnicity and if I speak Chinese. (Just remember, I have no Chinese blood in me, but I would love to learn Chinese [Mandarin, Cantonese, Fookienese and even Tsinoy!]. Right now, what I know are English , Tagalog, Spanish, Russian and a bit of Hebrew.)

Don't draw any conclusions based on undocumented 'evidence.' And, as Filipinos, be a little more humble and respectful like the other Asians around us. I remember my mother saying that the problem with the Filipino is "ang yabang."

And, I must say that though Hayami is good-looking and played Night really well, he's no Takuya Kimura or Joe Odagiri (Can't beat Kimura and Odagiri in looks and talent). Kimura and Odagiri are better actors.
