"wa" means "is, are", but "ga" also means the same thing if you use [topic/subject]+[wa/ga]+[noun/adjective] format. The only difference is that "ga" is like saying something really is that, like you're completely certain and that the topic must be the noun or adjective word that you use.

Don't worry about just starting. We all have to start somewhere =)
