Since the festival got not a one response i'm changing this thread to perform another purpose.

I found this on a site of one of my fav writers and though it'd be a fun thing to try. Ficlet sharing. Basically this is how it works. One person posts the assignment which can include types of characters, genre, history of the characters and anything else worth mentioning. Someone else (or a couple of people) then writes a short fiction story based on the info provided. It doesn't have to be long. As long as you can come up with and post it. Then you add the next assignment. I think it'll be fun and help us develop our writing skills. Anyone up for this?

Alrighty! Hmm .. how about a day in a life of a house cat.

Or if that one isn't fun how about:
"They were the oddest couple ... "
Continue that sentence.

They were the oddest couple with their green teeth, purple and white hair which were really snakes, five reddish amber eyes and lizard like tongues.

The story of the haunted house on muffin lane.

In a quiet little town was a quiet little street with a quiet little house with a ghost in it. Boys would dare each other to spend a night inside, just to prove their courage to the girl they liked. And as the story goes no one to this day, could spend a full night and come out still okay. Most would run away before the clock rang twelve, those who stayed seemed to lose their sense of self. They would shiver, drool and mumble as their hair turned gray, their families couldn't take it and disappeared within a day. One sunny summer day a family came to town and taking little time looked at the house. They did not know the stories and did not care to listen, so liking what they saw they wrote a check and moved in. The family consisted of a mother, father and a baby. They cleaned up the house and made it almost shiny. New paint, new furniture, new garden. The house seemed to scream “Look at me, I'm lovely!” While the repairs progressed they did not sleep inside, instead they stayed at a motel each and every night. The fateful day came that signaled for them to take residence in their new home. Happy as can be the mother and the father picked up their baby while stepping through the new white door. The children of the town gathered to watch, whispering frightened words until the night fell down. Their parents dragged them off to bed, away from such horror. They knew the family would not live to see tomorrow.
In the quiet of the night the police got a phone call that went something like this “Oh dear God, she went insane. Someone help, she's dying!” Confused by the mention of two “she”s the police asked for an address. “We live in the haunted house on Muffin Lane, please hurry!” Just then the call was cut off and the man on the line went silent. In the morning the bodies of the family were carted away and the blood smeared walls of the house were washed and cleaned by the after-crime crew. The incident was not mentioned in the papers, nor was there a formal report. Everyone in the town just went on with their lives, they warned the family not to move in, their job was done.
The boys still dared each other to prove their courage, and inside the house the ghost gleefully frolicked through the renovated rooms, singing happy songs, happy to be home alone.
