As I said, I'm doing a research project and my topic is about using English as the medium of instruction for Elementary Education in the Philippines. There are instances wherein using English in teaching elementary students can have positive effects. However, not all the time that is true. Negative effects can also result from using the language as a medium in teaching. So what's your stand? Pro-English or Anti-English as the dominant or primary medium of instruction in educating Filipino youths? I won't give any opinion yet just to be safe from any biases...

Any response is very much appreciated.

I thank you for your help.

Note: anyone can answer here as long as you're a Filipino. But it's highly favorable if the comment comes from an educator or even an aspiring educator.

If you're looking to teach English in an elementary school there, then yes, its quite a good idea. We've all been given lectures in English, maybe some of you have not, but from where I went to school, I have. I've set my goal to teach English myself if I ever go to Japan, but thats quite far away to achieving it.

honey, no personal threads allowed.. :(

but I guess, we can apply both languages to complement each other in teaching.. Eduacators must learn how to balance their methods of teaching.
