happiness is a chemical reaction in your brain which comes about when you are doing something your brain thinks is beneficial, the only reason you feel happiness is because your brain wants you to do these things, like waving a carrot infront of a donkey to get it to move in a certain direction. no one actualy needs to be happy or do any thing, they just want to, plus as budda said "desire leads to suffering". anyway... i believe there is a point where you can not get higher but i dont know where that point is.

There's as much point in happiness as there is in existence itself.
No matter what life throws my way, pulling through it and ending up with a smile on my face makes everything good again.

well, I think being depressed wont result for good things to happened
and it is true some happy people die but i think it is more accurate for a depressed person to die before a happy person.... i dont know

Aw, I feel really sad for the guy who started this thread. Cheer up! Life has its sad parts. I never lost as much as you, so I don't know how you feel, and I won't pretend that I do. Please don't try to kill yourself, as bad as life may seem, there's always some happiness left in the world, you must only find it. I wish you the best of luck for finding your happiness again.

Honestly, are you really asking that? I understand you're depressed, but fucking sheesh, I think you know the answer to that.

Happiness is crucial to living a healthy life. Without happiness, I would be so...dead inside. So you lost five people, huh? Well, let me tell you something.

How would you like this. Imagine this scenario: Your father was disgusted with you, so he abandoned you at one year old. You get a step dad at seven, he raises you like his own. He has a temper, and one day, kicks you out of the house at 16 and throws a suitcase into your arms. Eventually, you wander back to your house, but have to follow strict rules. Your grandma dies of cancer. Your uncle dies of cancer. Your other grandma falls off a ladder and snaps one of her fingers off. One of your aunts is partially mentally unstable, and writes lies about her whole family, you included, and posts it up all over the web. Two friends that you have known since elementary school die of an overdose. You get dumped by your boyfriend of a year and a half.

That was my story. This was only a FRACTION of the horrible stuff that I've went through. Yet I still find happiness; I still learn to live. Don't you dare try to use that excuse of death to prevent you from being happy. Face it, you're just trying to run away.

Death and tragedy seperates the strong from the weak. Only the truly courageous can say that they still want to live life, despite all of the horrible things that have happened to them.

Agreed, people in those kind of countries have it far worse. I'm just so sick of people bitching about how shitty their lives' are. When in reality, they should pull their heads out of their asses and take a look around for once. For some people, a good day to them is having a partially filled belly.

I second that. People these days should stop bitching about their problems and take action in their lives.

=] It's good to love life. Enjoy it while you can. Especially when you're young. Because when you get old, you're going to start looking back on your life.

Glad I'm not the only one who sees things how they truly are.
