-Do not speed!
-Always keep a safe following distance behind another vehicle so that you can react on time in case the vehicle suddenly stops!
-Always look far ahead to check for any hazards so that you can react early!
-MUST always obey traffic rules accordingly!
-Always check blindspots for safety before changing lane or moving close to the left or right! Blindspots are areas that cannot be seen by the side mirrors of your car!
-Keep a even longer safe following distance during rainy days and turn on your headlights(even during the day) so that other drivers can see you clearly! Be more alert!
-Do not drive if you are sleepy or on medication that can cause drowsiness.
-Do not use handphone while driving.
-Do not beat the red light.
-Always make sure that you fasten your seatbelts.
-Always indicate signals left/right to let other drivers know your intention to turn left/right or change lane to the left/right.
-Before you drive a car, always make sure the brakes are working fine.
-Do not drink and drive. Alcohol reduce your alertness on the road, therefore, increase your chances of getting into an accident.
-Always look out for pedestrians crossing the road. Give way to them on zebra crossing.
-Do not drive without a driving licence!
- Do not turn sharply using high speed, you will lose control of the car. Always slow down before making a turn.
-Always pay a good attention on the road.

I always do a mirror check every few seconds while driving. It's a real fast thing and a habbit I've had since I was 15 years old. Basically while driving a quick sweep hitting the drivers side mirror, the rear view, and the passentger side mirror. It's a quick glance and a turn of the head but it keeps you aware of the people around you and gives you the ability to catch something that may be about to happen.

Also when stopping at a red light I always quickly check the rear view to make sure the person behind me is going to be able to stop or is paying attention. While this may not be a life saving tip, I've had someone plow into me at a complete stop and by checking my rear view I was able to mash my brakes as hard as I could. When they hit me my car inched forward but did not contact the car in front of me. This didn't save my life, but saved my insurance from going up!

haha I read your post I got distracted by your avatar. I stop, look, and listen to it (i thought it was going to make a boing sound).
Do we really follow the rules after we get our license? Maybe once in a while...I know I'm guilty of breaking a couple.
As for safety our driving test shouldn't be taken at the dmv but those at F1, JGTC, and all those other associated with the FIA should be the real driver instructions.
Obey speed limit. (once in a while i go +5 over the limit except freeways since its a 65 mph maybe +15 max)
At the stop sign. Fully stop and look before going.
Turn signal when switching lanes and look before switching.
Don't multi task. (Most of us do this...mostly common is being on the phone.)
When there is an accident don't slow down and take a look.
Don't tailgate.
Once in a while be courteous when someone wants to merge into your lane.
Don't brake check if someone is tailgating you. (I've been tempted to do this so many times. But if I were to do it I wouldn't even brake check I would just use my e-brake, and the person that hits me can't say anything because I didn't do a brake check and has no proof that I pulled e-brake. :P)

When you see a female Asian driving, get the hell out of there.
If a ricer revs up next to you, get the license plate number, track the house, and smash that car to pieces.
Nitrous oxide is a no-no.
Cell phones are no-nos.
Don't illegally change lanes.

You know its those safe/ scared drivers who are more likely to get into accidents. rather than someone who is confident and drives at controllable fast speeds...

And if the fast driver does crash... Its always into those safe/scared drivers... so who's fault is it really?... Yours -.- people drive slow to piss me off -.-

nah, if you want a safe car, you should drive an armored car with bullet-proof windows and carbon steel doors and roofs
