Throughout WWF/WWE history there has been notable and classic matches from Wrestlemania III's Hogan Vs Giant to the first ever Hell in a cell match between Undertaker and shawn Michaels to the TLC Match between Edge and John Cena so i thought it would be a cool idea if we found out what is officially the greatest match in wwe history!
ok it can be from any house show, any PPV or special event and i look forward to seeing what people consider to be the best of the best

here is my favourites

2006 No Way Out - world heavyweight championship match Kurt Angle Vs The Undertaker
2005 Wrestlemania 21 Kurt Angle Vs Shawn Michaels
1996 Royal Rumble Match with shawn Michaels winning despite being the 1st entry
2000 No Way Out - WWE championship Brock Lesnar Vs Eddie Guerrero
Survivor Series - World Heavyweight championship Elimination chamber match - Shawn Michaels Vs HHH Vs Kane Vs Rob Van Dam Vs...sorry i forgot the last two lol

I think the triple threat TLC's with Edge & Christian were awesome
Loved the Undertaker vs Michaels no. 1
This is hard picking just one, there were so many, Rock vs Austin at WM17 would probably do it for me too....

Yes this is never easy even if just WWE matches and I'm likely to froget a few. I feel like I'll date myself but here we go with the best matches I got to see then trying to give a mix of old and new and maybe not all top end matches but had me recalling (will do best to cap at 20 entries for now, eh heh heh):

*Wrestlemania XX when you got both Kurt Angle vs. Eddy Guerrero and the triple threat for the title despite what's come of history since then the moment at the end with Benoit and Guerrero was excellent as were the matches seen with friends at a party

*Wrestlemania 2000 with Angle, Benoit and Chris Jericho for both the European and IC Titles in a 2 fall match.

*Both recent HBK vs. Taker matches at Mania of course

*Both matches around 1997 between Japanese greats Taka Michinoku and the Great Sasuke

*Ricky Steamboat vs. Randy Savage at Wrestlemania 3 is a must see on shows like WWE Vintage Collection

*Wrestlemania XII Iron Man Match between Bret Hart and HBK

*TLC 1 with E and C, the Dudleys and Hardy Boyz and their preceding triple ladder match

*Wrestlemania X Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart

*Rey Mysterio vs. Alberto Del Rio recently on Smackdown for just a stiff Lucha style match in a long time

*HBK vs. John Cena from a RAW that went 1 hour in the U.K.

*Royal Rumble 1992 won by Ric Flair for the Heavyweight title

*Ladder Match at Royal Rumble 2001 between Benoit and Jericho for the IC Title

*Masato Tanaka vs. Mike Awesome at ECW One Night Stand 1

*Survivor Series 2002 there was a tag match of Los Guerreros vs. Edge & Rey vs. Angle & Benoit

*2003 Los Guerreros vs. World's Greatest Tag Team

*Bryan Danielson vs. Chris Jericho from NXT

*From ECW CM Punk vs. Chavo Guerrero

*Wrestlemania 22 Trish Stratus vs. Mickie James for the Women's title

*2002 Survivor Series Trish vs. Victoria Hardcore Match

Oh am sure will figure more but that's a good amount to also show there's tons of good matches over many years in WWE and WWF and of course if wanted we could go farther! Keep up the good replies on matches!

man, it EASY to go to a wrestling website and find a list of the "Greatest Matches of ALL Time". and all those that were listed above me are pretty damn obvious. so im gonna go a different route and choose just ONE match.

if forgot what PPV it was, but it was this year... it was the LAST ECW PPV match for the ECW Championship between reigning champ Christian and the #1 contender Ezekiel Jackson. at that time, there were already rumors flyin around that they were gonna end ECW. i remeber watching that match thinking that it was gonna be the last time we see that belt be put up at a PPV. i wasnt disappointed either! they had one of the cleanest, best spotted, most exciting matches ive ever seen in a long LONG time. i remember it was an opening match, too, but i dont remember much about the rest of that PPVs matches(prolly cuz they sucked). the storytelling of that match in the ring was excellent and the the storyline leading up to it was flawlessly told. it was built up week to week on ECW and climaxed at the PPV - like how its SUPPOSED to be. and with it being the last ECW PPV Championship match, it was well worth it. Christian wins heroically, but Jackson got SO OVER in that loss - which is a hard thing to do when losing, unless u have a great match like that one.

not long after that, they had the final episode of ECW, and Christian vs Jackson fo the ECW Championship was a extreme rules match where anything goes. it was also a good match, but imo nowhere near as good as the PPV one. then we all said goodbye to WWECW...

Well also wanted to add something that I saw live but I don't recall too many matches from live TV shows/PPVs I've been to. I remember more the moods of a packed house, the HOT pyro from Kane's entrance or the loud ones of Kurt Angle. Also random stuff like Eddy/Ultimo Dragon in a tourney match where poor Ultimo (whom I've met up in person to interview in the past and who is an awesome person to meet!) having too long a cape he tripped. I did see the Summerslam where Orton beat Benoit for his first title but it was an odd mood, mainly due to the bad Taker/JBL match that got a Canadian wave going since bored and some drunk fan running on JBL's limo and almost botching the rigged rooftop. I guess live it's all a mesh how things are recalled for me match wise, eh heh heh...

OK got to add that once again WWE Vintage Collection reminded me of matches maybe left off a list of the best. Smokey Mountain Wrestling was seldom used in the WWE but when they were the tags reminded me again of what tag team wrestling was. Seeing the Heavenly Bodies managed by Jim Cornette (Who runs ROH now) facing the Rock And Roll Express even in the twilight of their careers showed why tag team wrestling can work and how exciting it can be!

And then Mean Gene Okerlund kept reminding us that within all the feud matches of Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels from their IC title match at Summerslam to the Montreal Screwjob and Mania Ironman match to not forget 1992 Survivor Series, 5 years before Montreal. It was a stellar fight indeed I had forgotten and am glad to have seen again today in full. The two brought out the best and even had to empty out the move list in their wars.
