It seems teens do it to look cool or impress friends. In the rock culture, well, if they already have piercing in other places, I suppose that works for them. To me, it definitely looks girly. That picture that raliya posted was girly. It makes me think that's the kind of boy that the girls like to use for their yaoi and moe fantasies.

As a dude who wears an Earring himself, I have to say there's nothing wrong with it. I agree that some can pull it off and some can't. I feel I could pull it off because I get complimented or mistaken for a girl, haha. Anyways, Negative opinions from others matter not. I know myself better than anyone else so they can assume away.

I wear small stubs 1/4 ct on my left ear only or dangly cross earring as well, which I had gone to the jeweler to have Jaejoongs earring replicated since I'm a huge fan =D

I haven't had anyone say anything about the stubs but with the cross earring, people stare. But I care not =P
Besides, with stubs, no one can see so I tend to use dangling earring since I have longer hair.

if this thread was about girls, we'd have users in here screaming sexist
it all depends on the facial structure and type of earring, on some guys, it can look sexy, while on others...not.
