well that's not such a good idea i mean how do the Koreans executives expect kdramas to expand in the US if they aren't allowing the fans to watch it first? its not like we can visit our local Blockbusters and rent a drama..i wish that could be but its not..and i've seem some of the subtitles drama on the market and it sucks..and the dramas are too expensive to buy..i guess nothing is free anymore

^ Huh? What Korean executives? It's American executives that are responsible for marketing/selling/promoting K-dramas they licensed for the U.S.

You can always go to your local public library and ask if they could order a copy of a K-drama, which is likely to happen if the K-drama is licensed.

Do you not have a friend who have access to a TV channel, AZN channel? People in the UK don't even have access to AZN channel or anything of its kind, so lucky you.

That sucks for us, who get our supply of K-drama here at CR. But it's good for the executives because then they'll get profits.

I have AZN channel, but it's kinda limited to what they offer since it's not solely K-dramas that they offer. Last time I checked, they had Chinese ones as well (and other Asian dramas). They even have the music videos and stuff like that, but that channel doesn't seem so dependable. Before, I was watching this anime on there and then they suddenly stopped airing it.

Do we all realise almost everything here and other direct video streaming sites are illegally used? Having a licensed drama here could have CR shut down for good.

Unlicensed drama/anime at least don't attract lawsuits so easily. Still illegal, but less risky.

So, there's no way I'd support a move to risk CR's neck just to please some people who want to see licensed dramas (or anime).

"But it's good for the executives because then they'll get profits. "

What the hell? I think you're being short-sighted here.

More profits for distributors (whether in the US or not) means better chances for them to place more orders for Korean producers to buy more drama proposals, which means more work opportunities, e.g. production companies, directors, crew members and - more importantly for some, maybe - actors and actresses. All this means more dramas for fans.

In short:
Refusing to buy DVDs (whether licensed in the US or not) = fewer dramas and fewer chances to see your favourite idols. It's as simple as that.

^ How is that possible? If it's US-licensed, it usually has English subtitles.

Well, there is an option: get a DVD and rip it or download RAWs off the net, get soft subs to use with rips or downloads, and you're set to go.
