there's no connection between the two movies but since most of the people who produced My Sassy Girl and Windstruck are the same they wanted to ride on the popularity that My Sassy Girl has to relate it to Windstruck but if you give note of the timeline.. there's really not much sense especially the fact that in Sassy Girl, the girl is still studying.. in Windstruck she has a job.

Windstruck she has her own apartment, My Sassy Girl she's still living with her parents.

Even the twin part isn't related at all, Image and a lot of other stuffs, Image

Kanata,
What do you actually mean by CONNECTION?
If you're asking if it is a sequel, the answer is no. WS story is definitely not connected with MSG.
But speaking of the "Connection", of course it is somehow conneted... same director, same actress who played the lead role, same storyline (the girl's love died and then she met this guy who seems to have the same character with her late boyfriend) but of different times..
So don't get confused Image

i watched windstruck first, so i think there is :P
but actually there is no connection.

people who watch windstrcuk first (like me) tend to fit the pieces of the movie together (also like me), so it may seem like MSG is a sequel to the movie that came out 3 years later (make sense?)

it was interesting though, the way you can piece it.

zzzzz

its really a coincidence

do u think that those two has connections??

impossible!

MSG was produced way earlier than of the WS

if u watch the WS first u will think of a connection bet. the two

but if u watch the MSG first u wont even think a connection

in WS she is already a policewoman

in MSG she is in studies again

dont u think so??huh??

yes there is a connection. But the weird thing is that My sassy girl came out first when windstruck was suppose to come out first. It is kinda like a flash back. Some what. But they do have a connection. You just gotta have to watch windstruck first to understand fully. Both of these movies are great.

I really liked this movie alot, I've watched it almost 10 times wayback in highschool so I really know some infos about it.

Ok, here goes.. "Windstruck" is really made to be connected to the movie "My Sassy Girl".
NOTE THAT: "My Sassy Girl" was based on a true story by a korean blogger and made it into a movie. (read it in the news)
And because "My Sassy Girl" became a hit movie in korea in 2001. They thought of releasing a "PREQUEL" to the movie. In 2004 they released the prequel and entitled it "Windstruck". But "windstruck" was not anymore based on a true story unlike "my sassy girl" they've just made it to ATTRACT the FANS of "My Sassy Girl", to tell them that the girl had a love story before she met Gyeon Woo, and also to tell them that "My Sassy Girl has a story behind it."
NOTICE THAT: the names of the leading men of the two movies are: Gyeon "Woo" & Myung "Woo".
and REMEMBER THAT: in the movie "My Sassy Girl", gyeon woo have a cousin who died. (So it is possible that the cousin's surname is also "Woo")
And his cousin was the girl’s boyfriend. That’s why when gyeon woo’s cousin died, gyeon woo’s auntie wants gyeon woo to meet & date with her deceased son’s girlfriend (which is by the way: Jeon ji hyun)

Although there are things in the movie "Windstruck" that does not match in "My Sassy Girl".
Well… It’s just; the makers of "Windstruck" didn't do well in matching their movie with "My Sassy Girl"
But they really intended their movie to be connected to "My Sassy Girl".

Here are some JUSTIFICATIONS:

*In the movie "My Sassy Girl" note that the girl likes to write fictional stories.
Try to remember her story about them being a futuristic POLICE (She was in police uniform fighting criminals and shooting them off, then saved Gyeon Woo)
IN MY OPINION: the girl just pulled that story out, REMINISCING the moments in Windstruck when She and Myung Woo was following a drug dealer and goes to action when they tracked down the drug dealers. (she was also in a police uniform in this scene)

*The names of the leading men of the two movies are: Gyeon "Woo" & Myung "Woo".
In the movie "My Sassy Girl", gyeon woo have a cousin who died. (So it is possible that the cousin's surname is also "Woo")

*The movie Windstruck was released on 2004 and "My Sassy Girl" was on 2001. eventhough my sassy girl came first windstruck was meant to be some sort of a flashback, they've made windstruck just to tell people that there is a story that happened before "My sassy girl"

Just as I've said: "my sassy girl" was based on a true story and became hit on 2001, it became so popular that they thought of making a prequel to the movie (eventhough windstruck isn't anymore true.).

hope you are satisfied... whooh that was a long one..

at first, I thought that Windstruck was "what did happen in the past" of My Saasy girl. But it turned out to be that, its not. I think they just borrowed some part of the story in my saasy, like, the she had a boyfriend who died who she can't let go, which is the one who died in the windstruck... then the story goes on.

"better read marknikolaim post,,"

I cried more in windstruck than in my sassy girl!

Both are great movies! best ever! Love Korean movies,, I'm a fan from Philippines!

ok smart guy, tell me then why she's a student again in MSG if it SUPPOSEDLY after WINDSTRUCK.
In WS she had a full on career.....

if any of u people saying " Oh... windstruck is a prequel " would actually READ my post the director himself SAID ITS NOT A PREQUEL.
GET OVER IT.
They just borrowed bits and pieces from MSG, but they're 2 totally different movies in 2 different universes.

READ THE LAST LINE OF "CONNECTIONS TO MY SASSY GIRL"

nuff sed.
