Do you think Japanese People are the only ones who can become "Manga Artists"?

NO, if i may...im not japanese but im quite confident my art is comparable to the works of japanese mangaka (sorry im not boasting, this is just a fact abt myself...dun mean to look down on anyone ) im sure everyone, regardless of who they are,hav a chance of becoming mangakas...even if its not japanese but its still similar to manga rite...

I think you would need to be culturally aware of japan though, theres quite alot of things that come through in manga.

With your avatar, (I'm assuming it's meant to be from deathnote) you know there is a "B" (Beyond birthday) who is one of whammy's house prodigies in the death note novel "The los angeles BB murder cases".

yeah i know...i put B as my avatar on purpose hehe

From the day I was born, I know I'm destined to be a manga-ka.
Ok, so what if it's not from the day I was born. At least I do dream about being a manga-ka.
The funy thing is, I only have a Japanese last name and don't have a blood of a Japanese.
But, so what? Dooes it really count being a Japanese in order to be a manga-ka?
All you have to do is draw, right? (Ok, it's not that simple.)

All I wanna say is, as long as you think you can, then try.

Nope, I've seen Korean and even Taiwanese and chinese mangas before. But It's just that I think they should come up with their own style. Because the story-line and pictures look exactly the same as Japanese ones. If you really want to become one, then good luck! I think it's good that you know what you want to be.

If you have the interest..go with it. Don't mind about people who critisize you, its part of the manga creation road~~ btw, being critisize means that people DO READ your manga, good thing, right?

Nope, Tokyo Pop had something like a competition in America where people submit their manga to Tokyo Pop. If you win the competition, I heard that your work will be published or somethin.

There are manga artists from other asian countries. I've even seen a manga from Argentina. Manhwa is pretty popular too.

'Course not. Anyone with the skills can draw manga. What would be the use of their skills if they don't use 'em?? It would be such a waste.

I disagree with that!!!

I know of some people who draw really great as if it were in a manga, and they are not japanese!

and I am sure there are some real manga artist's out there who are not japanese~

Rememember this, RACE DOESN'T MATTER!

Only Japanese people can make manga.
All that north american crap Tokyopop puts out sucks hard.
Americans need to just stick to going with COMICS. You can write a comic in manga style even, if you want.
But calling your comic manga if you're not japanese is just painfully weeaboo and stupid.
Besides the whole 'going to become a manga-ka' dream kinda dies off once you get a lil older. Then you look back and realize what a faggot you were.
Ohohoho those were the days.
