The author of Gothic Sports is from Germany... and then there´s spy Goddess...was made into a manga, and i think the author is from the USA... so i don´t think it´s impossible.

umm, id say an artist can draw w.e he wants as long as proper respect is given that is due. cuz cuturally, a manga is just a long comic book, thats backwards.
take for example, eastman and laird wrote ninja turtles. but the original books were done manga style (not right to left) in the sense that they released volumes that was like 90 pages or so.

like being 1/2 jp myself, i dont have a problem with a guy whos not JP doing a manga, so long as he says where he got his inspiration from, like if its just some dude trying to cash in on the whole market, then no, but if its some guy that truly loves manga then yeah.

personally, id give my left lung for manga style american comic books. just imagine 100 pages of wolverine clawing people! zomg!
i dunno, marvel and DC need to release volumes.

You see, I'm not a Japanese and I don't live in Japan but making manga someday is really my dream.

So, for the people who are not Japanese and who doesn't live in Japan but wants to be a manga artist someday, do you think Japanese People are the only ones who can become Manga Artists?

No flames please.

;D I feel the same way.
I get so depressed when thinking only Japanese people get to become Manga-ka's.
But, have you heard of Mark Crilley? He isn't Japanese and he is indeed a Manga-ka.
;D so keep pursuing! No one can stop you.
I'm not going to let some little stereotype get in my way!
Promise you'll try your best and become a Manga-ka!

Well, manga is actually Japanese comics, so why will a comic be a manga if it's not Japanese made? But it is definitely a manga if it is first released in Japan, published in Japan,
Koreans have their own, its manhwa
while the Americans, I don't know what they call their comics, or may e just plainly called "graphic novels" or more simple, "comics"

EDIT: people who are not Japanese or do not live in Japan may not be a manga artist because manga means JAPANESE COMICS, but you can definitely be a great COMIC artist if you persevere, and if you really like it, go to Japan, publish your comics there and it will be an official manga now!:)

(for the edit)

hmm... i c, but no matter what it takes, we'll just try right? who knows ,
